What does the test show?
The friction test is designed to show the resistance of the oil film to tearing (the strength of the oil film).
Metal components in the engine during their operation (friction, for example, pistons) can lead to scratches and nicks. The better quality the oil, the better it should protect the engine, against their formation.
Any sample subjected to this test, will certainly have some scratches (indentations). By measuring the sample, we will be able to check the depth of the gouge.

How does the test proceed?
A new sample is subjected to metal-to-metal friction under a load of 1kg for a period of 5 minutes. The diameter of the sample is then measured at its lowest point. The lower the result, the better.

Proporcje molibdenu za duże, a jak kupić molibden to z Molykote, stosowany jest w lotnictwie, ale jak widać z byle jakiej firmy w dużych ilościach też działa. Ja osobiście używam w enduro w przekładni w celu wyciszenia i zmniejszenia tarcia, molibden ma swoją trwałość i po jakimś czasie przestaje działać, są też opinie wśród mechaników że zagęszcza olej i są problemy zimą, nie wiem nie stosowałem do silnika.

Mam dodany u Siebie do oleju. Nie zauważyłem jakieś różnicy w odpalaniu zimą. Aczkolwiek najzimniej było -5. Ale silnik pracuje i tak ciszej

There is a more powerful and stable, and most importantly durable additive. It is tungsten disulfide (WS2). It repairs micro cracks and improves the anti-friction effect, etc. It is more stable and efficient than MoS2.

Although mos2 works to some extent, it oxidizes base oil quickly and causes sludge as well as increase friction and wear eventually. Its better to stay away from it or use mos2 with high detergent motor oil with high quality base oil and best antioxidants

@@ghostroud I have been researching on tribology for about 10 years from now. Motor oils generally tend to oxidize with mos2. It is generally left unsolved at the moment. But I have noticed lower oxidation with high detergent motor oils especially calcium rich

@@firozmusthafa You might be on the right path, I can only find 2 works on the matter that talk about Mos2, can’t read them because they speak in complicated science words, but from what I did read it talked about the oil becoming darker, supposedly the oxidation you’re talking about which is absolutely normal with oils after about 1k-2k kms of use. Now I don’t exactly know what the effect which you’re talking about might do to the engine, but I’m going to take my chances because both of my engines are sipping on oil, I wanna try it, might get fixed. Also Liqui Moly already packages Mos2 in that is pre-mixed with the oil they sell (Liqui Moly 10W-40 Mos2, that’s the oil that I’ll be using) I think that if they’ve tested it enough it might be safe for most if not all vehicles.

Yes I see video Millers vs pinzoil class EE, and molybdenum was very high in millers (phosphorus too). I was thinking about the graphite powder they use in locks....

Zawsze się zastanawiam czy większość takich dodatków nie zostaje w filtrze oleju. Tak wiem, że 0,85mikrometra to dużo mniej jak pory w bibule filtracyjnej ale czy cząsteczki MoS2 nie zlepiają się w większe konglomeraty które nie zostają w filtrze?

Jest prosty sposób. Gdyby tak się działo i większość cząstek filtr by wyłapał barwa oleju się zmieni, olej wyklaruje i gołym okiem będzie widać na bagnecie. Bo MOS2 jest mocno szarym pigmentem zmętniającym. Jak mętność zniknie będzie wiadomo, ale jak dotąd nikt o tym nie napisał więc...

Irekszepietowski - używam tego do upalania od 40kkm i wszystko śmiga. W oleju to widać. Polecam do silników tam gdzie występuje łańcuch i ślizgi w klasach lepkości minimum 5w40. Ja latam przeważnie na 5w50.

Można lać bez obaw. Ceratec podobnie jak MoS2 zagęszczają olej i jeśli ktoś twierdzi że to nieprawda, to jest w błędzie. To jak mocno MoS2 zagęści nam olej, zależy ile wsypiemy proszku. Proszę zobaczyć jak zmieniła się konsystencja oleju gdy dodałem proszek MoS2.

Работает конечно, но только в режиме граничного трения, что Петр и продемонстрировал. В реальном двигателе это аварийный режим

Добавлял и в двигатель и коробку - даже механики отмечали, что машина едет более бодро. Сейчас пробую на другой молибден в коробку, керамику в двигатель. Коробка зашевелилась, а двигатель непонятно, похоже это гидрокомпенсаторы стучали, сейчас почти не слышно.
