pure pink noise to help block out other sounds and get to sleep fast. if you get distracted easily then this might help with paperwork, homework, housework, etc.

@arsalanahmed48914 жыл бұрын
so you do backflips while doing your homework?
@hyperfox09344 жыл бұрын
@@arsalanahmed4891 no we do backflips _instead_ of doing our homework, crying miserably the whole time because we desperately want to finish but just don't have the mental energy to fight off the massive, billowing beast in our brains that's whipping up a hurricane around it, combing the shattered landscape of our minds for any sort of stimulus, any shred of dopamine that it can wring out of our broken faucets that refuse to even drip unless we climb monstrous mountains and bleed ourselves dry on the alters at their peak, just for one, single drop that we must then ration out to work on anything other than our current fixation- which is the only thing that gives us enough dopamine to be self sustainable. Ooor we can listen to pink noise which can give us juuuust enough dopamine to slide by, hopefully long enough to get some work done, which apon finishing, we will cry over because of heightened emotions and also because holy shit I'm not gonna fail out of highschool momma I'm doing it I'm fucking doing it please stop screaming I'm ok! Fuck that took a dark turn... we're oversharing while doing homework!! Hahaha
@hyperfox09344 жыл бұрын
@@aceilnordemnnoos8255 Anyway, two years late but you have also activated the special interest: For me, at least, and I think OP as well, it's less about tuning out distractions and more about the aforementioned dopamine pink noise gives us. We need dopamine to function- it handles a lot of higher mental processes as well as several basic ones- but with ADHD, you simply don't make enough of it, and it's thrown away too quickly. Plus, dopamine is also produced in response to pleasure, as most know, but with ADHD, finding something that does that is incredibly difficult, and because of the effective starvation of our brain, we can't help but fixate on that thing and loose all track of time, desperately drinking all we can get, while our brains scramble to try and get basic functions done while they still can, like memory management and emotional control. Sometimes, we even become manic in desperation while scrambling to our hyperfixation, because our brain hasn't been able to preform basic functions in a criticaly long amount of time and hits the panic button. Anyway you probably know a lot of that, but hopefully I've put it in perspective a bit? Edit: Oh shit I forgot my meds... case in point!! XD Wait where are my meds :/?? Ok i found them crisis averted they were where they're supposed to be I just forgot that was where they're supposed to be Case in point v2 my brain neglected to write down that I had moved my meds down into the office even though they've been there for three months now. Hopefully since I had the pink noise going my brain will have written down their position this time!
