I mix the 2 about 2:1 Lawn Food to Milo. Get about 15-2-2 with iron. Seems to work pretty good, plus no burn. Plus it's still cheaper than synthetics. Spreads pretty nice too. Makes my neighbors happy as they are worried(?) about kids/pets being exposed to chemicals.

Oh baby temperature reached 86-88 here in Fayetteville,NC.. I have no weeds in my yard. I applied pre emergent mid Feb & late Feb. I did both spray application & granular with Scott's weed n feed. I have Bermuda grass. I did milogranite late March 1st of April. I'm going to do 6 bags of it with epsom salt mixed in.. I'm close to having the best lawn on the block

@Kevin Halton it's a mixture of magnesium & sulfur. It helps increase the production of chlorophyll. Which helps green up the lawn. There is information on KZbin and gardening articles. Next time youre6in walmart or a dollar store check out epsom packaging. It details it many usage. Essentially a cheap fertilizer. Hope this helps.

Got my soil test results back and I am high in phosphorus and therefore my lawn is low in zinc. Need iron, nitrogen, and a bit of potash. Just put down my first app of Purely Organic. I like the smell. Put my 5 bags of stinky milorganite out of my garage and into storage at the farm.

I like this video. This is my first yar using milorganite and Ive only used the product one time. I have a mix of zoysia and bermuda grass in my lawn. I live just out side of Omaha Nebraska. BYD, it will be a good idea if you take a test plot and combine both product at a half rate each to see what happened. That way you get a more balanced fertilizer out of both. Please do it for us your viewers.

Mr. Adam contains Absolutely no iron at all. You will have to use a liquid product that contains iron, chelated iron it your looking for that deep green.

There's a product called Moorganite at tractor supply. It is biosolids from cow crap. Pretty identical to milo but has a little potassium.

I use a locally made product called Bay State Fertilizer. 3.50 a 40 lb bag. Same thing as Milorganite.

BYD! My man! I am still fighting out of control weeds... But I am so happy U posted this/made this recommendation. When the lawn looks good (80%+ being weed free) would U recommend this over say Scott's Weed and Feed? I ask because, I have always used Scott's because it says it wont burn Ur grass... but let's face it... the product price has gone through the roof. So, use this and another broad weed Killer? Or once the lawn is where it should be, Scott's? What's Ur opinion?

LydieCakes I’d find out what weeds you got first ( you may be using a product that doesn’t kill those weeds ) I’ve always stated tackle weed issues first before relying on just a fertilizer. I’d make the weed and feed my first app if you are still battling weeds

That's my plan, keep tackling the weeds until I got at least 80%+ gone from the yard. I was asking more like, once I have that goal tackled. (Looking forward towards greener pastures, haha)

I went with perennial rye (Pennington Fairway) this year. My results (patchy due to wash out) are not as good as your controlled area, although I did a 1:1 mix with Ringer while my Bermuda was dormant. Did you use annual rye? I gave up on Milorganite 2 years ago. I don’t have a pickup yet, and there’s no way I was transporting that in the Tahoe again. Online prices aren’t any better. If the rye doesn’t hold once summer hits (Zone 9). I’ll try Yukon next spring 1:1 with Scott’s starter fert. Edit: I wonder if I could get away with adding a granular pesticide to the mix.

Most seeds now come with fertilizer wrapped around them. So you should be ok.

@@kendrickjohnson8778 the 0-0-7 is a pre emergent ( if you didn't know). May have missed your window. Still next time you see rain in the forecast go ahead and get that 0-0-7 down. BYD will send you on the correct path, his vids are very informative. I would still put the higher nitro fertilizer down now before the temps raise. Just put them both down when you know the next rain coming thru. 👍🏾

Quick question: I was planning to Power Rake my yard, then aerate, overseed, then top dress with topsoil (I have 50 bags of topsoil). But because I have a lot of weeds I'm thinking about taking your suggestion and just Power Rake and use weed & feed. Would you suggest to still put the topsoil down before or after I use the weed/feed? And then aerate once the weeds are gone? Should I still overseed or wait until weeds are gone? Thanks

+Keith Day attack weeds first, I’m really not a fan of power raking, you may not need to overseed, try to bring that Bermuda back first. But you’ll need to get rid of weeds before you do anything.

you did a video on a bottle of WEED STOP spray I believe it's spectracide in a black spray bottle that I got from Home Depot my question is are you supposed to dilute that with water and then spray it or just straight from the bottle because I've been spraying it just the way I bought it from the bottle but the yards that I'm spraying it on there huge and that's a ton of bottles that I'm using up so is it possible to dilute it and would it work the same way

Freddy De La Cruz yes you can do that but here’s an alternative, use the Purely Organic hose end sprayer formula in rotation. It’s a 13-0-4 . The granular 4 times a year is good, but if you want to stump the yard! ( show out ), put the liquid hose in sprayer in the mix.

Say you buy an organic tomato plant and you use milorganite as a fertilizer, well milorganite is not OMRI listed so now you cant say that tomato plant is organic. Why milorganite isnt OMRI listed is beyond me but if you look it up you will find its not listed.

The price went up 15% ($2) in my area for only32lbs. I still have 4 bags from last season. I will hold on to them for now. I've already put down the Purely Organic fertilizer. Fortunately, the HD have this stuff on the shelves in my area. I am going back to stock up on this stuff since they are selling for $19.
