There is something truly special about a legend (being interviewed by another legend) just sitting down and telling stories about his long and incredible career. No video footage, nothing else than a voice telling the story. It adds mystique to it, it adds something that a videoclip on an iphone can never capture. It lets you add your own pictures to the words that are spoken..it's just great! Thank you so much for this, Al, Andrew and puremix 👍

I stopped watching Dave Pensado about two years ago - but this is such a relief, and I am shocked that I only discovered this video series - over a year after it was published. Thanks Puremix and Andrew Scheps for such a wonderful, well researched, informative set of interviews. And monumental - more so since Al Schmitt has passed earlier this year. Superb Documentary

I think he mentioned the rca44, neumann u47 and u49 (the big classics) during the interview. Then he mentions royer (he doesn’t mention model, but r121 is the most used one and I think sf1 is touted as their mic for classical instruments, both are figure 8 I think) when he talks about omni mics during the q&a. I probably missed some.
