Verse with the Rams is playing. You should be able to start your first round draft picks, especially on defense and offensive line positions. These aren’t complicated positions to learn at the NFL level. It speaks more to the ability to draft well.
@aaronphillips928415 сағат бұрын
Verse is older and was more pro ready. Turner is more of a developmental guy than verse. But he should still be getting more snaps
@IceCubE442515 сағат бұрын
Verse is 2 years older, has more developed pass rush skills than Turner so its not a good comparison to Dallas and is asked to learn a complex defensive scheme. Kwesi has got the talent requested, trust in the coaches to develop them and mold them to fit in the coming years.
@ahastar114113 сағат бұрын
I think you are underestimating what Oline and especially edges in the flores defense are expected to do in the NFL. Not all first rounders are the same, and feeling forced to start a first round guy based on the fact hes a first rounder, and not based on his skill set, how he fits, and his development based on the coaches vision is how you get a bust. Lets trust the process a little here as we are at week 8 in his first season with it sounding like more work is on his horizon hopefully replacing Pat Jones

You take the guy with one of the worst pressure rates in the league off the field. PJ2 has a 5% pressure rate. Given the lack of pass rush the last two game' give Turner some reps.

@derekbaker327919 сағат бұрын
I am not concerned. Yes indeed, Turner is quite young, so he has been struggling to learn NFL level defence, and/or he needs to beef up before dealing with NFL level violent contact. FWIW, he still has an all-star future.
@ahastar114113 сағат бұрын
I think the other thing is refining his pass rush moveset. He has an excellent speed and bull rush, but at his size hes going to need to develop more moves and work on setting up offensive tackles to get home
@derekbaker327913 сағат бұрын
@@ahastar1141 Great point. He was so good in college that he has not had to assemble a 'tool box' full of moves & techniques, but he needs to do so now. (..Of course, going against Darrisaw & O'Neill in the off-season would have revealed these deficiencies. lol..) I am quite confident that he will be a monster, once he adds beef & diversifies his skillset.
@ahastar114112 сағат бұрын
@@derekbaker3279 I think it’s really evident when you watch the reps he’s taken. He really tried to speed his way around the outside then gets locked up at the top when he gets past the QB. It works really well against mid tackles but good tackles will just play the angles. His sack was off him working a speed move and working back inside when jones stepped up into the pocket. A guy like von miller is a great example of a smaller athletic rusher, but his pass rush move set is diverse and unpredictable. As Dallas matures, I can see him developing like greenard given his frame could use some weight. He’s von millers size now but he could probably be about greenards and verses size just under 260. If he stays small his move set will need to develop quickly. If he gets bigger, then he can use those power moves more, but may lose a little speed.

Let him develop and let him cook when you see his progress. The one thing I hate is that when he or any player of his caliber start cooking, that ol injury bug hits our team. Last year it was Kirk , JJ, & 3 of your 11 best players on offense. This year it's CD and new Rookie JJ out for the year. Don't rush them when they aren't ready to play

I'm more so disappointed if you weren't going to plan on playing him because of how deep you are on edge then why draft him for all the capital? We could of used Arnold or cooper dejean in the secondary where we really struggle and they would of actually played.

Well you have a lack of QB pressure problem, a pass rush issue, someone has to go. It's crazy that people are looking for the Vikings to trade for a pass rusher when you have a 1st round, 1st defensive player taken in the draft, pass rusher doing nothing.

Patrick Jones is NOT a good pass rusher. I’d rather gamble on Turner replacing him in full than have to watch Jones get 35 snaps a game and do nothing.
