A large part of the problem is also- The Vikings are dead last in offensive plays per game. Can't spread the ball around if you ain't even got it.

Agree. If we just sustain drives by avoiding dumb pre-snap penalties and utilize the skill players in more of a quick throw offense, we will be fine.

Chicken-Egg. If you spread the balls around then you get more first downs and more offensive plays per game.

So we are correct in that Darnold just misses Addison?

Well addison was standing wide open in the end zone and darnold only looked at jefferson who was falling down and double covered... yea he doesnt like to look beyond jefferson and thats why they are starting to struggle...

I don’t agree with Addison going on social media to vent, come on though if he’s getting separation 90% of the time he needs more looks, especially with how much Jefferson is doubled

Bro as a coach and a quarterback you have to know you have all these playmakers start spreading the ball around the more everything opens up , the happier everyone is , like coach needs to call plays for everyone that gets them open and in the game ..

I kinda mentioned this somewhere b4 but for all the people saying he “lacks character” “Diggs 2.0” writing him off because he’s made some mistakes is not cool. He’s a kid, it’s his 2nd year. He’ll learn if he hasn’t already. What if we wrote off Chris Carter and Randy Moss because of their issues? They lear, it takes time. People need to chill and stop being judgmental. He could be a really good kid, inside and out. We don’t know him personally.

True, but - if I recall correctly - with both Carter & Moss, it took them being traded from the team that drafted them before they really got their sh*t together. FWIW, I am not writing-off Addison, and I certainly do *not* hate him....but I have been suggesting that he *may* need a similar kick in the butt (trade) to force him to mature. Ideally, KOC, Wes Phillips, Keenan McCardell, JJ & other Vikes leaders can get Addison there, and he can be a very talented & valuable WR#2 for the Vikes for a number of years.
@kolfibrown65404 сағат бұрын
@@derekbaker3279 🤔 hmmm my original comment was either taken down or something but I don't hear people having that same way of thinking 🤔 when our offensive coordinator was on the news for the police stopping him for a DUI. Wes Phillips is able to continue with his career without anybody feeling like Wes Phillips needs to get his sh*t together and be fired. Heck, you consider him a leader. Now I don't know about you but I don't want an alcoholic as my offensive coordinator 😔. Nor consider him a leader. Addison is younger than Wes Phillips. Wes Phillips is in a higher position than a young Addison. Nobody is saying that our offense is sucking because of our Alcoholic leader of the Offense Wes Phillips and he needs to get treatment before he comes back to the NFL nope I don't hear any of that. I also don't hear Wes being compared to the other coaches especially when it comes to how to behave. Nope I don't hear anything about Wes Phillips and his discretion with alcohol. In fact, the people seemed to have forgotten and forgiven Wes Phillips discretion.

Part of the problem is that Addison was a bit spoiled when Cousins was QB. It has to be said that Cousins is superior to Darnold in seeing the whole field, rapidly going through his progression, 'looking-off' DBs, throwing with anticipation, and putting 'touch' on the ball. Yes, Darnold is doing a really good job, and in comparison to Cousins, he has a little bit more zip on the ball & he is much more mobile.....however Darnold does tend to 'react' to open receivers, he does suffer from tunnel vision from time to time, and he isn't quite as refined of a passer as Cousins is. So, it's not surprising that Addison isn't getting targeted as much & hasn't gotten the ball when he has been wide open. Ideally, Darnold will improve in the areas that have impacted the number of times Addison has been targeted.
@ahastar114113 сағат бұрын
This, I think people are underestimating how good Kirk was at distributing the ball. I also think he was able to overcome some of the meh play calling of KOC at times with having experience and confidence. Darnold is also probably coming into his own a little too and not used to having this many options to throw to. KOC and the team will get this right
@xaviergrandison863519 сағат бұрын
So what I’m hearing is Kevin O’Connell is not doing a good job getting the ball in his hands And also that tells you thatSam is only looking at one receiver🤦🏽♂️
@FinalDestiny2212 сағат бұрын
KOC is doing a great job is what you're hearing. What you should he paying attention to is Sam on the field. He alnost NEVER goes through his progressions. Justvstares Jefferson down 80% of the game

IMHO....Kwesi A-M, KOC, Phillips & McCardell need to have a conference, and decide if Addison has the maturity & 'team-first' attitude to be a premium WR#2 for the Vikes....or if Addison would be a fantastic trade asset for teams lacking WR talent (e.g. Bucs, Chiefs, and - as Winhawk77 pointed out in the chat - Texas & San Fran). I would think that Addison could garner a 1st rounder, or a top-notch starter in return. Ideally, Kwesi A-M et al. already know that Addison will *not* be a concern going forward, and Addison blossoms into a consistently dangerous WR#2...however, if Kwesi A-M et al. aree not sure, then trading Addison could enable Kwesi A-M to significantly upgrade the Vikes' in one of the Vikes' few areas of weakness, and do so for the long term.

He's probably getting open so much because opposition defences are focusing on Jets .... or A a ron Jones ... and this sunday we can add TJ to the mix. Like Andy says, alot of mouths to feed. JA should accept he's WR2 behind one of the greatest to ever play the game. He'll still have amazing stats and if he wants to trade for big $$ at the end of his rookie deal he'll have plenty of suitors. Until then, chill out JA and bask in the reflective glory #SKOL
