Purpleheart Mechanical Pencil

I've been learning how to turn pens with a small proxxon lathe I bought In this case I'm turning a mechanical pencil using purpleheart wood and a craftprokits mechanical pencil kit.
This is the process I followed:
Cut the wood to size
Mark the centers
Drill the holes
Glue the 7mm brass tubes
Barrel trim so that the top and bottom are perpendicular to the barrels
Turn down to size
Sand from 80 to 600 grit
Burn to bring out the colour
Sand down again from 80 to 600 grit
Apply 4 coats of clear glossy varnish
Polish with plastic polish
Mount the pencil!
