Just my very non-professional opinion... What the wife craves is true intimacy, which is not happening. Hence her sex drive has plummeted. She would be more inclined to feel sexual if her partner validated her feelings, participated in conversation, and welcomed physical proximity. In a loving relationship, there needs to be anticipation, kind words, cuddling, and small non-sexual touches throughout the day. Sex should never be withheld as a punishment, but it honestly sounds like he’s manifesting this through his dismissive attitude towards her. Both need to be open and communicate honestly with each other. Perhaps the fabric of their relationship broke down in other areas first before the degradation of their sex life took place.

"Cis" comes from Latin and means "by this side" as opposite to "trans" which means "at the other side" :) Thank you very much for this! You explain such a complicate topic in such an accurate and understandable way, as always!

...YEAH, the longer someone has been stringing you along, the worse it is and the greater the damage - especially, if ZERO FUX or care were given in your partner's exit strategy. #LifeAlteringEffects

I love some of your episodes on specific "controversial/fascinating topics. (I.e. psych of incels or psych of psych of conspiracy theories etc) Your podcast is amazing and thanks so much Dr. Honda!

Cisgender means you identify with the sex you were born with. So if you have a penis and identify as male, you are cis male. Just for clarification on Humberto's (I hope I'm spelling that right) question about gender.

Wow! Thank you so much for this! I think I'm on my way to find out why my relationship with my dad is so bad. I thought I'll never get to understand its roots

I love Kirk's podcast so much but Alberto triggers me so much! I have to investigate that.

Dr Kirk, It makes me wonder if you have a Umberto on your episodes for an ego boost. Because on the Podcasts he sounds juvenile and then you come off as the expert.

Inn NY, right?! that umberto guy‘s contribution is mostly so simple and... i don‘t know, just cringy-annoyingly simple 🤷🏻♀️

@Super Anon That could be true but a lot of us listen to the show for the clinical aspect of it and not the comical effect.

I know this is late but I remember in a podcast they said Umberto’s role is to provide the opinion of an every day person because it helps ground Dr Kirk and makes it more relatable for the every day person.

I love this episode, going through a similar thing and I recognise we’ve fallen into an unspoken bartering vibe, which I’m gonna work on! I feel as though her husband could show a bit more respect to what she’s saying… ask ‘how are you feeling about sex’ as opposed to ‘are you a lesbian?’…. In the second question he’s trivialised all of the true and real issues she’s struggling with. Why would she want to be intimate if she’s invalidated? (I’m one of her clan 😂). Also, love the Pyche in Seattle podcast but I struggled a bit here, lots of silly jokes and interruptions that weren’t super helpful! I’m sure Humberto is a lot of fun but I found it to be a bit disruptive here 🙈 (I’m sorry!)

It’s kind of annoying when Umberto cuts off a legendary rant to make a joke.
