The videos are for the troupers protection as well as evidence. A byproduct is very occasionally a bad cop is identified. I saw the video that the ASP was sued over and I don't think he was in the wrong. Strikes against the troupers were it was a woman and she was pregnant. I think that influenced the court case--neither of which the trouper knew and if he did, should not impede his actions. She knew she was pregnant and didn't stop for the officer. I also think we see more Arkansas videos because Arkansas does not fight against releasing them as other states do. Also they are popular because they are exciting.

They use every possible technology and as a result, have a high rate of conviction, some local government agencies have started utilizing the Tactical Vehicle Intervention program!

All of this for speeding. They don't use every possible technology. There is new technology called the grappler that can stop a pursuit in a much safer manner than using the TVI or PIT. This is extremely dangerous this puts officers in danger and the public in danger. To pit somebody at a hundred plus miles an hour is extremely reckless. Especially with the contraption that many other state patrol agencies are using that reach us out and grabs the back tire and stops the vehicle. Speeding and alleged possession of drugs almost earned this man a death sentence. The pursuit in itself put the public in danger.

In the City of Quincy Massachusetts, a police department will put a badly wrecked vehicle on their property in June for the local Graduates. Obviously to get them to realize what they'll be looking at if they drink and drive. Arkansas should have billboards with all kinds of wrecked vehicles like this saying...... This is You -- Should you choose to Run.

Officer pits and sends the car right across oncoming traffic. I've noticed this in several videos. You never know exactly where the car is going to end up but the cops always seem to ignore the surroundings. Like, oh there's a car coming in the other direction or through someones fenced front yard and hopefully not their house. Oh well I'm going to take him out regardless of what it destroys. I guess our tax money will pay for the damages and law suits if someone else gets killed.
