Hi Folks. I had a concrete block wall lean in over time due to frost heave and lack of support on one side. Luckily it held together for the most part, and I managed to get it back into position, a little bit at a time. I used two car jacks and some 2 x 6's , after removing all the soil from the other side of the wall. I added a drainage pipe and clean fill to help prevent the problem from happening again. The roof structure was not really sitting on the wall so that helped as well.

This is Genius. There's another person old person on KZbin who used vertical wood beams secured to joist and concrete floor. He used wooden wedge to push on vertical beams against the wall over a span of a few months to push 3 inches of wall back in place. Best of all he didn't move the dirt on the outside.

Was also thinking to use a jack which is what led me here. My project house's wall is about ready to collapse but the footing is great. I've pushed the joists up with jack posts and dug out nearly to the footing outside. Would love to be able to push block by block back into place but there's nothing but a dirt floor for the jack to push against. Figured I'd remove the top block, one by one and do a concrete pour into them once straight and finish it off with some carbon fiber straps so it don't come back. At least I get to put in a French drain while I'm dug out.

Working on a similar situation. It sure isn't fun digging out the foundation through red shale rocks either. The bow is more severe on my block walls and pushed in the block a couple inches in at the bottom and even more in the middle.

How in the hell did you get those little scissor jacks to work?? I tried one just installing a steel i beam trying to snug it against the foundation and that shit damn near killed me.. had it jacked in and was holding so i went to tap in a 4x4 to relieve some of its stress and thing just buckled.. and it wasn't any kinda bending or notice.. it didnt slowly bend out of shape but the u steel leg buckled in on itself like boom. And it went flying and wall and beam pushed back out ... like a gun ... so i set my 20 ton bottle to work horizontally and let her eat...

I guess the wall I was pushing wasn't that heavy and had most of the weight bearing down on the footing. The jacks I had came out of a Toyota...but I have had the jack fail on a Ford Taurus just lifting the car.

Did you have a ceiling to support or worry about?

This was inside a basement garage...the overhead joists ran left to right so there was no "load " on the wall I was pushing back. The top few rows of blocks were still in the right place. The big thing was having no soil on the other side of the wall to push against. I don't think that would have worked .
