My all time top 1 as well. The perfect duality of melancholy and power. The emotional orchestra of sorrow, nostalgia, grief, resentment and anger. The matching pairs of The lead guitar distorted harmonics + Chesters chorus with just the right amount of distortion and The peaceful and beautiful guitar harmonics + Chester's melodic clear verse. This song just touches me so deeply.

I pulled over to the side of the turnpike earlier bc I couldn't process the news of what just happened to my favorite musician. My heart heavy and tears rolling down my face. Playing in the background was 'pushes me away' what is probably my all time favorite Linkin Park song. As I sat there.. I reflected. I reflected on 16+ years of what Chester and his music did for me. The music I used to help me get through some of the toughest and most darkest times of my life. Music I used to celebrate happy times with friends. Music of which I witnessed first hand at as many different concerts as I can count on my hands and toes. Music that has produced tears of joy and tears of sadness in my eyes. Music that has brought countless hours of singing at the top of my lungs both in the shower and whilst driving. Ive never met you Chester Bennington.. but I feel your powerful voice and music has shaped me into being the person I am today. Through your music, your gift of sound will forever live on with me.. for that I am truly thankful. RIP

Tommy, your post cames from the middle of my soul. Over one week ago, that's he's leaving us, but the pain about that, feels like one hour. It's so unbelievable. Few minutes ago, i heard some tributes to him, heard some duetts with other artists and my heart starts bleeding much more. Feels like a terrible blockbuster!! So much great singers, they're touching me so fucking deep in my heart'n my soul, gone cryin'-crawlin my pain, my aggression, my hate out'n away from me, dies in a fuckin' decade. So much of the best voices, i ever heard, leavin' us in the last ten years. Hope the reaper now stops his "Voice-Collegting-Death-March"!! 20. Juli 2017, Palos Verdes Estates,, the world starts cry again. Finallly: Sorry for my horrible english. Ich denke, mein Deutsch wäre wahrscheinlich um Welten besser, but, fuck off... Last english lesson was thirty years ago, i think.... What the hell...., it's all heavy...everywhere....strangely enough.... Keep on rockin' 🤘🎸🤘

Me again 😉 This was my angered uproar, angered anger, my violence, and my deep, emotional turmoil, which had nothing to do with a phantasy. All this was his voice for me. This voice, these songs, which were so intense, helped me at that time to ground me so that I was hardly any more violent, and for the most part alone, my deep-seated. My. To actually rotate life by 180 °. His aggression during singing has so often prompted tears, tears, which were actually my anger and anger. He gave me my lost tears, which would otherwise have landed again as a fist in a face ..... He taught me to feel again. Chester, even if you were, for the most part, miles away from me, in your songs, you are so close to me as hardly a man before. As before, but different. THANK YOU FOR ALL MY FRIEND ........ RIP ....... WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU ...... (Hopefully you are finally at your destination, you have arrived at your "Tomorrowland"!) We will one day and weirdly see again.

Dmitry Kukharenko Most of their song have this universal meaning I remember Mike saying one song remind him of this, while to Chester it is something else. Yeah numb is not really but it is close especially with its melody, think of numb this way, it is your love one trying to mold you into what they always wanted.
@Nathandabest089 жыл бұрын
+Dayz 3O6 Chester was bullied growing up, and most of his songs sound like his depression. Why he never walked away from the bullies and still tried to get liked, they just pushed him away and bullied him more. "I'm tired of being what you want me to be" is saying that the bullies want him to be normal "Be more like me and be less like you" but he wants to be himself. He's become so numb from depression. I know about this stuff from experience.

The moment I heard the bad news on the radio (and I rarely turn it on since 2014-'15, so I suppose it was one of the many awkward "coincidences" that happen to me) about "a huge rock singer who died yesterday" I knew it was either him or Amy Lee. Still, it hit like a truck and felt, like death usually seems when you lose someone you've come to care about, like a bad joke, so unbelievable. For a few hours I really thought there must be some way that the internet was trolling hard for some reason, even though that guy on the radio had made it clear that wasn't the case. At least the world will always have songs made by someone who cared, hurt and even died because of that (well, most likely, since life can easily drive you crazy when it seems to hate you, especially when something is supposedly wrong with the chemistry of your brain, I guess), which can save others by easing the pain a little and showing them that we all have to share the load (through art, too) and try to be positive, even if we truly are lonely, depressed, unlucky, unloved, and so on. Hopefully, some day we'll learn... though I don't see that many ppl becoming better parents, for a start. Simply because we've been too selfish and invested in the wrong priorities for so long now, and not everyone gets that there are consequences and you *do* shape the world by how you choose to see it, how certain ppl have brainwashed you (from parents to society in general), and how you yourself brainwash or treat others (and yourself, actually). For example, so many complain but they put so much pressure on others, or say the stupidest things like it doesn't matter at all, although sometimes they create a very real wrong impression by doing so. But hey, at least more and more realize the basics lately and they only get sicker of all the hate and stupid games, so, you never know. Can't know if he'd agree with me on anything but I'm sure we all find at least one way to let artists like him make us better humans. Maybe I tend to overthink a little and I wrote partially irrelevant things again :p Whatever, I've always thought that understanding and respecting everyone/everything and learning to care the right way is the most important thing in life, and this guy seemed to get a lot of ppl and what they're going through, so I hope it makes sense that I decided to mention these. I'm quite sleepy atm so I'm just gonna post the thing without editing/removing anything :s p.s. This song has always been among my faves, it was one of the first 2-3 I listened to last year. Btw, it'll be an infinitely awkward musical experience to listen to new material by LP, but nowadays I'm not so firm on my initial opinion ...thought they should stop making music under that name, but now I'd say it wouldn't make much of a difference to only change their name... they don't need me to tell them this, but they only need to respect his memory and maybe use some old vocals of his for some sad songs. It could be so sweet.

I still remember the night I first heard this song like it was yesterday. I was around 14 then, my friend lent me his Hybrid Theory cassette that day. Coming from a Christian family who never liked listening to Rock since they mom considers it as the songs of the devil, so I knew I couldn't play this while they were awake. Plus I never really listened to Rock myself, so there's that... I have no influence on listening to Rock. They're used to me sleeping late at night so I waited for them to all sleep before plugging in this old but really good big headphones dad bought back in the 90s, but never used for whatever reason. So anyway... I plugged it on and played Hybrid Theory for the first time. I jammed to the songs I'm familiar with and wasn't really feeling other the songs that time, but they're ok. I was already getting sleepy when Cure For The Itch played, and I honestly fell asleep somewhere in the middle. At that point I felt that it was already becoming a chore to have to listen to all songs, but I persisted to stay awake a bit longer, telling myself that only 1 song left and I can go to sleep after. Cure For The Itch ended, and there was this silence that felt like a good 30 seconds or so... then, the first notes of this song played... immediately, I said "Ok this is nice" before being greeted with that drop at 0:11, and it surprised me that my sleepiness faded... then the lyrics, I was... when I first listened to the lyrics, the song just hit me on a whole different level. It was the first time I heard of a song that really talked to me. I was overwhelmed with emotions, and I couldn't express it all, but I loved that feeling. So, I closed my eyes, and for the entire duration of the song, I was completely absorbed by it... I wanted to rewind it, but it was getting late, and I need to go to school early tomorrow... after all that, I was left with this feeling of awe and I couldn't get enough of it. This song immediately became my most favorite song in Hybrid Theory ever!!
