We've been extremely busy at the shop knocking out project after project but in this video we give you a look at a few of our client's cars along with some more 7.3L Godzilla content. To kick things off we take a look at a C7 Z06 that we just wrapped up a stage two performance package on, a Mercedes AMG GTR that we installed a Forced Induction Interchiller system on, and of course some coverage of our Godzilla powered S197 Mustang.
We would like to thank Ole and Johan from OBR Control Systems for being generous enough to come down to our facility and work with us to test out their Godzilla control pack. In the very near future, you will be able to purchase a complete 7.3l Godzilla engine package from us that will feature their complete OBR Control Pack for your swapped hot rod or project.
Our entire industry is facing an extremely troubling and uncertain future as the EPA has changed their interpretation of the Clean Air Act - putting every manufacturer, installer, and user of performance automotive components at risk of not being able to continue to do what they love. Please take just a few seconds out of your day to follow the link below and let your elected officials know that you expect them to fight for the RPM Act, and save our racecars.

Still more left in it with a good cam to move that TQ peak. If it's anything like the LS it will handle more TQ at a higher RPM before it goes boom.

I'm really interested what these motors can do with a strong camshaft and maybeee some mild head work on 93 pump gas, then a smaller amount of boost like 7-10 lbs. I think that limitation is just as important to the average end user of this motor than the guys going for 1000hp+ and 8s in the 1/4. The coyote is so bottlenecked by fuel if you live in an area without E85 like myself. I'm making like 680hp/570tq on 10lbs (paxton) 93 pump. If a godzilla can make say 800hp/800tq on a cam + low boost setup on 93 pump. I would buy that over a built 5.0 simply because the fuel availability would still limit the built coyote's power whereas the Godzilla's ceiling would be a bit higher even stock bottom end. thoughts?

Once we have the methanol engine in the S197 we plan on doing some more practical testing with the engine in another chassis. Brian Wolfe over at Willis Performance Enterprises has a lot of great content on some NA applications on the engine dyno.

As soon as I saw those cooling channels that ford cut between the cylinders I knew that would be the weak point for this motor, sucks that they come like that.
@mikelliteras397
@mikelliteras397 3 жыл бұрын
It is a weak point but that’s all relative. Being 7.3l it doesn’t need a lot of boost before it’s undriveable on the street and as soon as it gets out more and gets on the track more, someone will build a beefier block. It should still take a ton of power before it breaks.

Thumps up for blowing up a brand new motor! Everybody goes to the hockey games to see a fight. We go to the oval track races to see some wrecks. And we come to the youtube dyno videos to see some people blow some stuff up. You guys did not disappoint. And now the armchair warriors of the internet will have a video to link back to while getting into arguments with strangers. Stock godzirra motor is only good for 850HP. Any more than that and the block parts like the red sea. :P

After going back through the logs with Johan from OBR, this engine made the power that it did on seven cylinders. The original OBR Control System did not like the 16 volt system we are running the car on and fried an ignition coil driver. We're fairly certain that this contributed to the engine failure we had. People can talk all they want. This platform is only getting more and more popular as the days go by, and we're more than okay with being the folks that are completely transparent about what works and what doesn't work. :shrug:

When I saw the cracked cylinder my first reaction was to think it had a weak(ish) block. But then I saw the other bank had a missing rod/piston. I believe the cylinder wall broke due to hydro-locking as I've seen this happen before when a motor took in water. My question is where did the coolant/oil come from? Blown head gasket or did it come from the dead hole in other bank? What caused the piston and/or rod failure? Power? Detonation/knock? Possible hydro-lock from a head gasket failure? Have you guys figured it out?
