First, you need to turn that flatty into a musical short with that dance it did LOL Next, really glad the battery held for the entire battle. Nice Salmon and cool to catch it on some light gear. My biggest fear in trying BFS is hooking into something decent and not being able to land it. Great job Mick in landing that fish , fun to watch!

Yeah i definitely have to make short of that Flatty hahaha I really wasn't sure it would, lucky for the enduro batteries, that was the problem with my GoPro before, the old battery had lost full power... With ultralight gear, if the drag is set right, you can still land most fish, my drag was a little tight on this fish, but I didn't want to change it at that point in the fight, I usually have my drag set reasonably tight to set hook and then crank it back for Jewfish, so they can run, but sometimes it costs me fish, I'm not targeting... It's all part of fishing though, you can lose fish on any size gear, the fight on ultralight is just too fun 👍

Cracking video bro, not a bad spot this one. I was down there every weekend last year and yes landed 2 Jews just under the legal mark around mid to high 60’s very rarely heard of salmon being caught that far up the Lane Cove but I guess when the bait is around they’ll chase it anywhere. Plenty of flatties around there too on the mud flats when you’re flicking little plastics around. My PB flathead there was 77cm on a live tailor

That's a great Flatty, you got there as well mate, nicely done. I saw them hanging around the 2 days I went there in a row, the second day I didn't film and just got a few small flatties... This salmon really put up a hard fight, it was such a surprise, I really thought it was going to be a big trevally haha
