How do you manage to avoid getting snagged every cast when you fish such heavy structures. Do you reel in super fast so the lure doesn't touch the bottom? Anyways enjoyable watch as always mick, lookin forward to pt 2 🤙
@bushfishncook2128
@bushfishncook2128 Күн бұрын
Here is a great tip, if you find you are getting snagged when you cast out, there is a good chance your jig head is too heavy for that spot, I'm trying to remember to mention jig head sizes etc in most videos now, that way it helps you guys select the right fishing equipment etc I usually cast out, let it hit the bottom, the second it hits the bottom I slowly pick it up, if it's snagged... the first light lift of the rod, will usually allow you to not snag it heavily, flicking the line may get you out of trouble, if you lift fast and hard, the snag will be worse... In general though, if you get lots of snags, the jig head or sinker is too heavy for that location, over these 5 hours of fishing, I still lost 2 jig heads, that just happens around structure though, you can't always avoid the snags... Tight lines legend 🎣

Mick! I’ve been fishing and had a few huge Stingrays on, and man, I didn’t think I was ever going to get my line back, 😂. Using 4Lb line that Bream would have felt a lot bigger lol 😂. Great video, Mick 👍🏼. I remember when they built the shopping centre at Birkenhead Point.
@bushfishncook2128
@bushfishncook2128 Күн бұрын
You can only give the fish so much grief on 4lb... I had 8lb leader to avoid being snapped, when rubbed on the pylons etc, if I had 6lb I definitely would have lost at least one of those fish... I honestly can't believe I got that stingray in, twice I watched it try to bury itself in the sand, somehow pulling up managed to stop that happening, if they bury themselves, even on the heaviest gear, it can be impossible to get them out...
