Great tutorial but my footage isn't as good as yours. Trying without much luck to do this as my subject keeps waving his hands in front of the shirt, screwing up the tracking. Any suggestions on how to address this?

Difficult man. It seems like you're gonna have to mask/track manually to deal with that hand. So that means making keyframes manually. But I'm not an expert in tracking so maybe someone else here has a better solution? 🤔

@@JorisHermans Here is a new tutorial for you. Frustrated I decided to try and error with settings that I haven't seen anyone use. Much to my delight I found the answer quickly. Before starting the track I increased the mesh rigidity to .973 and it worked! I'm stoked. Unpin this so you can do a tutorial 😉 Actually further review, his hands go behind the logo, so this isn't complete but it doesn't screw the logo. More work.

you can use a mesh warp in the fusion editor and parent the positions to trackers to create a similar effect in the free version

Nice vid Joris. Do you think you could do another one for the surface tracker, but this time with a much more mobile object? This only seems to work on objects that are basically sedentary, or move very, very little. But what about something like someone sprinting where their torso is moving and twisting a lot more during the course of the sprint? I've tried, and the tracking dots get all deformed and the entire mesh just gets warped beyond recognition no matter what settings I try to adjust.

I think your best option is to shoot the scene in slow motion. Then do the tracking on the slowed down footage and once you're done, speed everything up again to normal speed.

Thanks for the video! I tried to follow your instruction on the studio version of DR for iPad. Unfortunately, i couldn’t bring the media (logo) to the color page because the media pool tab is not available for some reason on the color page even though I am using the paid version. Is there another way to bring the media in?

How do you bring in your video clips on the iPad. Should be the same for other media 🤔 (I hAven't tried DR on the iPad yet)

The tab is visible on all tpages EXCEPT the color page For some reason is not shown on the color page. I just found a way to bring the media in through the keyboard shortcuts. You can adjust/fix the tracking path manually where it stopped tracking the object...

Cool video!! Sorry to bother with a question but in my film a girl's eating at the table and there's a cereal box with a milk jug blocking the cereal box a little bit. I was wanting to change the cereal box, like me create a cereal box that isn't real, and put that where the one in the film is. But again, it's also blocked some by the milk, which will have to stay there. Is there a way to do that, and if so, is there a video on how to do it?

png with a transparent background. Tiff also works I guess but then you'll need to create an alpha channel.

Hey dude - thanks for this video, this worked a treat on a project I am working on! I have a slightly different issue, I have footage shot on a green screen, with a moving camera. The Tracker in DaVinci works well, but it tracks EVERYTHING, including the actors. This video of tracking in AE explains what I want to do - do you know of any way to attack this in DaVinci?
