Amazing to see how Russia lives in this parallel universe. The 'west' certainly isn't perfect, but it is definitely the best system we have for a civilised, just & fair society. Russian propoganda does seem eerily similar to the mid-late 30s with Hitler. Inciting hatred against other groups of people. Nobody is attacking Russia. Nobody was going to attack Russia. The civilised world has been trying to welcome Russia into the modern era of global trade and the benefits that flow to living standards etc. We all know why Putin invaded. He is partly attempting to remedy past wrongs in the collapse of the Soviet Union and partly wanting to create some mystical legacy for himself in Russian folklore. It is so sad the whole lot of it. All built on lies from the Kremlin & Putin.

Mutual inspections of each others nuclear facilities was always a non starter, for obvious reasons. Both sides have similar suspicions with good reason, however, the World by now realises that Russia as a state is a comprehensive liar and therefore a system which depends on even a minimum of trust between nations cannot rely on good faith in Russia which does not exist.

The part that stood out to me was his complete lack of reality to the economic situation. Last spring Russia cancelled all domestic projects.. no road construction, no new schools or hospitals. they just paused everything... yet a huge part of his speech talked about new plans for the future..he talked about building tech universities, industrial parks, primary schools... also he talked about their low unemployment rate, which is misleading because they just sent millions of workers home without pay.. so they are technically employed, but without income.

The problem with signing treaties with countries like Russia is western countries generally abide by them transparently whilst Russia does exactly what they want anyway. The entire speech was delusional, criticism of supplying Ukraine weapons systems with extended ranges and the Russian response is to suspend participation in treaties that place limits on weapons.

Where was BBC & other News outlets when Western Ukraine was bombing Eastern Ukraine citizens for 8 years since the CIA COUP in 2014? The pictures then of the Donbas area and other areas of Eastern Ukraine between 2014 & 2022 are little different from these from Western Ukraine bombing their own Russian Speaking citizens. Western Ukraine has lost their right to govern Eastern Ukraine. Seek Peace. Grant Independent Country Status to Eastern Ukraine States protected by Russia until they are fully established countries.

@tubthump
@tubthump Жыл бұрын
@@stefansekulic7903 USA/NATO arming and training began in Ukraine in 2014 following the US backed coup which deposed the democratically elected president. Retaking Crimea was a given because of the crucial role of the port at Sevastopol which has been home to Russias Black Sea fleet since the 18th century. Implementation of the Minsk II Accords would have brought an end to hostilities but Angela Merkel revealed that the peace talks were a ruse to buy time for Ukraine to prepare for the war with Russia that USA had been planning all along. Clearly USA underestimated Russias preparedness, strength and resilience.

Putin's morbid speech was unhinged, but he has talking points that often have just enough truth to them that they can be utilized by disgruntled nationalists & conspiracy theorists. The "West" needs to resist Kremlin-Russian aggression against democracies, esp in our neighborhoods, BUT we also need to have further internal criticisms ourselves that address the failures in our own societies which facilitate a Putin anti-western style narrative. We need more cohesion, less arrogant "progressive" social policy overreach, less bureaucratic corruption, more governmental accountability, less media manipulation...

Without the United States and company's help Ukraine would have been unable to prevent the takeover of their country. The only problem I have with what the west has done is that what is being done is too little, to late. They are most likely training Ukrainian soldiers and support crew's on these systems as we speak. In an undisclosed location of course, to minimize risk of sabotage and espionage. When the shipment of Archers was announced, I seem to recall estimates that they could be put into battle somewhere around april. I have no direct sources on that though, but it was in Swedish news around the time they announced it. The look like they could be a very powerful weapon paired with drone surveillance. But they are also dependent on support veichles and some form of armoured escort. So long as they can move around, shoot and scoot, they are deadly, but if their location gets found out by the enemy, they will become a priority target for air strikes. So, my guess is that we won't see much of them at all. Sweden also pledged 50 or so CV90's. My guess is that this is a joint training excercise, outside the prying eyes of the media.

It's good to act cautious, so countries send more weapons that Ukraine definitely needs, but reality is that Russia literally has 0 chance for any victory in this war whatsoever. And they are far worse equipped and are doing than what was portrayed here.

That's not true at all. America is running out of ammo and we don't have an industrial base to mass produce ammo and weapons for industrial scale warfare. Plus we have to fight China too.

Bottom line, there is a conflict on a scale not seen since WW2 going on in Europe as we speak, isolated to one country yes but still. Unfortunately the only way out seems to be a military solution but it can’t be allowed to go on for ever. I believe the primary goal should be that we help Ukraine to take back the rest of Kherson and the south as that will put them in a better position at the eventual sit down at the negotiating table, right now they don’t have much. My biggest fear is that Putin will be rewarded for his brutality in some way, it’s just not right🇺🇦

Hopefully Ukraine will punch south with aim to make Crimea a priority once it falls its bingo for Ukraine . Easy to blow up the Kerch bridge again and isolate Crimea. They need everything now ,jets ,long range weapons everything to get the job done.

When I see exclusively LGBGTG brigade fight against putler, only than we can talk about their "pride". "Decadent" ancient Greeks had at least such combat units, so let the nowadays LGBGTG follow their example. And suffer combat casualties for their "pride", like ancient Greeks did.

What are the consequences of China supplying arms to Russia, Francis? Russia's economy is doing just fine according to the IMF while the EU is going into recession... such poor analysis by mentally challenged Telegraph journaliars
@yenlinhtran69

Russia’s economy outcast by the IMF was said to be too rosy. It shanked 2.2 percent in 2022 and on track to move up .03% for 2023. It’s GDP is smaller than three US states, and life expectancy is lower than China. Average household salary is less than $8000. Putin and his cronies kept all the money from their gas and oil sales. I am just keeping those numbers in my head whenever I heard Russians talking about how good everything is.

noting that ..In early 2022 Ukraine had finished the preparations for an overwhelming attack on the renegade People Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk (DPR and LNR). Half of the Ukrainian army, some 120,000 men recruited and trained during the last 7 years, were stationed near the ceasefire line and ready to go. On the opposing side only some 40,000 men were under arms. They would have little chance to withstand an onslaught. Russia could not let a Ukrainian attack happen cont on Moon ofAlabama 2023--38 Feb 13 US/nutto -UKR shelled Donetsk and Lugansk for 8 years wrecking coal mines, electrical substations, water pumping stations and residential housing killing 21,000 civilians.
