Let's be realistic here - Crimea is not going back. Any attempt of taking Crimea back will be interpreted by Moscow as an attack on Russian territory and will allow them to use tactical nukes to stop any advance into Crimea (their military doctrine allows for this, it is public knowledge).

@@ebereamaechi-akuechiama746 This may be so, but NATO needs all of its NATO member states to agree to send in bigger weaponry like fighter jets, tanks etc to Ukraine, so if just one member state does not want to do so like USA, they can't do so. So in a sense the USA is preventing NATO from being able to do more. Or at least one of the NATO countries against declaring a no fly zone, sending in jets, tanks and maybe some troops eventually to Ukraine. Other NATO countries may be more keen to assist ukraine more this way though if the USA was prepared to do so, that is a massive big country and super power. So indirectly the USA may be preventing other countries helping and assisting Ukraine more.

His family fled the Soviets when Estonia was reconquered and he was born in Sweden and grew up in the U.S. He speaks Estonian with an American accent but also speaks German, Spanish, and Latvian (a language unrelated to Estonian). Estonian and Latvian are very tough languages.

I looked at the Eastern Charkiw corridor near Isjum. It is as "easy" to defend as the Kiew region. A maze of lakes, woods, few roads and lots of chockholes for "delaying" actions. Even if Putin "wins" here in the short run, long term he has big problems. One I've not heard discussed much is that he'll be taking over a largely depopulated (except for resistance fighters), devastated area. This makes Russia's serious demographics problem worse. Meanwhile, he's given Europe a huge shot in the arm of Western oriented, fairly easily assimilated people, which helps Europe's demographics problem.
