Ya - enough sure IS enough.Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has shattered its economy and global standing. Sanctions have crippled key industries, energy exports have plummeted, and discounted sales to few buyers offer little relief. Military spending drains resources, worsening poverty and increasing public resentment. As the war drags on, infrastructure and productive public spending deteriorates, the currency weakens, and recovery grows increasingly unlikely, leaving Russia on a path toward economic and societal collapse. Worse than all of this, is that Russia has created an enemy in Ukraine that never existed previously, as Ukrainians will never forgive Russia for its violent and senseless invasion.

@russianenglish42842 күн бұрын
No, I dont think that you are being pedantic, or, perhaps, being pedantic in this case is justified. The Russians make a number of false claims regarding their invasion. The language think you mention is so easy to refute. Zelenskiy is an ethnic Russian and that is his first language. USA citizens speak English, but they are not English by nationality. In Putins article published on the Kremlin website on 12 July 2021 (which is still up), Putin says that the Ukrainians and the Russians are the same people -- "a unity", by which he means tht the Ukrainians are not an independent, sovereign people. Putin goes on to say that Ukraine was historically part of Russia and therefore belongs to Russia now -- kind of like the British saying that the USA was once part of Britain and they want it back.
@masterofpuppets12492 күн бұрын
This is like the Belgians who speak Dutch and the Belgians who speak French. A nation can be united even if they speak different languages. That's something an autoritarian country as Russia don't accept. Those pro-russians living in Ukraine should move to Russia if they feel Russians and leave Ukraine alone.
@russianenglish42842 күн бұрын
The point is that language is not nationality. Otherwise, we'd have to say that the Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zeanders, and all the other nationas that speak English as a first language should be British subjects, more specifically English subjects.

The analysts make an interesting point about Putin's regime being like a meringue - impressive on the surface but brittle underneath. The weak response to Ukraine's Kursk incursion could indeed signal growing cracks in the power structure. But I wonder if there's another angle: could this apparent 'insubordination' be part of a calculated strategy to lull Western observers into complacency? Would love to hear others' thoughts on whether these are genuine signs of weakness or potential strategic misdirection, particularly from those with expertise in Russian military doctrine.

The buzzards are circling? During this Christmas season and New Year, may the Christ Child bring about a just peace for Ukraine with the return of all its territories and the children who were kidnapped during the hostilities. May all injured Ukrainians be healed and may all who have died Rest in Peace with the Almighty. May our Lady of Zarvanytsia intercede for Ukraine in a very powerful way to end this terrible kaputin-induced conflict/invasion.
