im Russian, i live in Russia. Its only a glimpse on what is really going on here. The level of repression is insane. I'm afraid to share my opinions in conversations with anyone outside of my family and close friends. When people say that Russians should just overthrow the government - they really don't understand what is going on here. @@illyausyk9051 As a half-ukranian / half-russian who was living in-between 2 countries at the time: no. It's nothing like Ukraine was during the Revolution of Dignity. Not even in the slightest. There was a clear split in the society and the majority wanted to overthrow Yanukovich, there was a lot of police and parliament members on your side. There was a consensus, even in the more-or-less pro-russian circles a lot of people viewed Yanukovich as a sellout and dictator who should be deposed. With all due respect, secret services were not actively participating in repressions and Berkut was not RosGwardia. A few hundred, maybe a thousand of loyalist scum vs hundreds of thousands of paid, de-facto legionaries, loyal either to the system or their commanders, not to people or the country, not restrained by public opinion or law. Historical parallels are flimsy. Situations are different.

The reason why the level of repression in Russia is so high now is that all Russians were silent or supported Putin's actions when he started a war in Ichkeria, Georgia, and annexed Crimea. Putin did not appear from nowhere. He was elected by the russians and nothing was done to stop him when he started wars or changed the russian constitution. Now Ukrainians are giving their lives for this indifference. Ordinary Ukrainians die, remain crippled, lose their children and homes because Russians are afraid of going to jail?! No one will come and free the Russians from their president, it's time to correct your own mistakes and take responsibility.

I will say this again... The designed proxy war was meant to benefit Russia and corporations that run US. BlackRock being one of those corporations, basically will own Ukraine after they are done murdering people. This also helps to shrink the American middle class. This designed proxy war has made Russia more wealthy than ever by increasing the price of petrol, Russia's biggest export. US had excuse to destroy the pipeline to Germany, further tightening the grip of WEF type folk in the region. ... It's all connected. I could go on and on... The informed few are winning VS the uninformed masses.

How precious it is to live in a country where you can freely criticize your leadership without fear of being imprisoned, tortured, or killed for it. The more I learn about Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran, the more I appreciate living in the West. It is so good to be relatively free! It is not perfect here by any means, but it is as close to the ideal as it gets. We should improve it even further. And we should do whatever we can to help others in the world, like the citizens of Russia, to be liberated from tyranny. Our ways are not a threat to the good Russian people, only to the regime that oppresses them.

I moved to Germany in 2018 because I could sense that after Crimea, Russia wouldn't stop. Today I 100% understand, that like many Ukrainians, I have no home. There's no way I'm coming back to this For the past 2 years, since I'm clearly against the war on social media, I've been seeing my family outside of Russia. Baku, Istanbul, Tbilisi - that's my reality. No more Moscow for me It's sad that so many of my former friends and colleagues believed this propaganda and supported this bloody war. There was no reason to start it. The Russian government took away homes from Ukrainians and Russians like me, who don't agree with it. We have to start from scratch here. All i can say is that Putin continues what started back in 1922 - genocide against its own people. He's a KGB agent, creation of the Soviet system. Russia had a short breath of freedom from 1998 to 2008, then it simply carried on with the policy that the Soviet Union had started - destroying everything it touches. For real - demons and satanists, who pray on human blood and sufferings

I couldn't stay in Russia.I feel really bad for the young guy Artyom. I would pack up as much food stuffs & warm clothing, take a train as far north as I could go into Siberian land, then travel all the way into Alaska, to seek asylum in the United States. Two or three guys have done it already. Knowing freedom, I couldn't stay in Russia for anything. Its July 14, 2024 three years into this war. I believe this video is from the beginning of this war. To know now what nobody knew back then, Russia is in really bad shape now & its only going to get worse.

He would do as cruel of things to be a big man with power and divide us. The hate here in the USA is horrible behind closed doors with people yelling hate in front of TVs, both sides Fighting, families being torn apart and feeling justified in their hate, even using The Bible to justify this man who doesn't even seem to be someone who should be the hero. Most believe the economy is worse and it seems we really do have less, but I don't want to live under a dictatorship where people can't say what they think, where nobody trusts the media, where people are punished for not agreeing. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s “Gulag Archipelago” had the solution... And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood that they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

@@SajtosNokedliIt's hard to define art. The German Nazi party also fetishized art they saw as "traditional" or "pure". Think renaissance paintings, graeco-roman sculptures, Wagner operas. What they fervently hated and banned was any type of modern explorative art that they deemed "degenerate". (Picasso comes to mind) I think the reason is pretty obvious. Art comments on the current state of the environment of the artist. Old art is still art but no longer holds contemporary commentary and relevance. To me that is the essence of art, though some might disagree. So no, I don't think Putin's Russia loves art. I think they love to distort and fetishize a different time when they saw their country as great and strong and without fault, preserved through select pieces of period art.
@SajtosNokedli
@SajtosNokedli 6 ай бұрын
@@oivinf Yes, nazis were actively banning and censoring modern-art movements. I know that their architecture - besides the aesthetics - followed popular contemporary principles, they built technically modern buildings. And fascists also have their own literature, with better and worse writers. There are not that many artists or piece of art considered as fascists because of the nature of art, but also because being connected to fascism is a determinism in itself. But it is a misconception that fascists hate art or culture. I know fascists, and their head is not a piece of wood, they simply have slightly different interests. And let's admit, numerous people are critical towards modern/post-modern or contemporary art - not justifying fascist witch-hunt, but in itself this fact doesn't make them outliers.

People never talk about the worst long term consequence. Look at China demography, Russia's about to get way way worse. There was already a gap in male and female and a negative birth rate(one of the worst on the world). Since the open war however this has gotten even worse with not only deaths of mamy men in the war but also the male diasphora to evade conscription have put the nail on the coffin. This demographical nightmare has ALREADY doomed any hope for Russia to be relevant again.

Western viewers, watch the scene at time 38 mins, and notice that Alexandra is getting water from a gigantic bottle. This is 'normal' in Russia (and many other former Soviet countries) - people have to carry home every drop of water they consume, after buying it at the supermarket. This is how indifferent their governments are: they can't even guarantee safe drinking water to their own populations. You can certainly find this in other parts of the world, like in many African countries for instance. But in most of those cases, these are places still recovering from centuries of colonial misrule, and from its typically disastrous aftermath. Former Soviet countries like Russia are almost unique in this way: they didn't need a colonial power to come in and separate them from life's basic necessities (though of course, Russia is and has *always* been foreign to many areas of the former USSR, from the caucuses and Central Asia in the south, to Siberia in the east, to Belarus and Ukraine in the west). Their own leaders were so incompetent, so uncaring and disrespectful, that they accomplished this level of social dysfunction all on their own. Bear that in mind when you read the comments posted here by trolls. When these trolls aren't reading examples of whataboutism from a cheat sheet and working them in to KZbin posts, they're making coffee, brushing their teeth and cooking ramen using these giant water bottles, because their government has failed them SO profoundly. These fundamental institutional failures were also inherited by Ukraine when it declared independence in 1991. Ukrainians are fully aware of this, and it's one of the many things they're trying to get away from by making a definitive break from Russia. Only a crazy person could blame them for that.

It has been like that for years: few years ago two Russian gay men stabbed themselves publicly in Helsinki as a protest for having to leave Finland back to Russia. That should be enough to tell you how dire the situation in Russia is for its citizens, and it is not the problem of only the sexual minorities: Russian authorities don't care about human life or what is true, only about their twisted world view being forced to everyone, no matter the cost. Or in a better explanation, you might be able to, but you never know if those who you are speaking to aren't associated to the Kremlin and might arrest you for your opinion. That is why making polls on Russia about the opinion for the invasion of Ukraine is useless, since most will likely say what the government wants to hear because there are consequences if they choose to say oherwise.

The main resource and basis of Russia's existence is not oil or gas. Russia's fundamental asset is its huge deposits of cheap meat marinated in poverty, immorality and alcohol. Centuries of slavery, debauchery and alcoholism, multiplied by decades of the Gulag and glorification of the prison subculture, could not but give rise to the establishment of animal-like relations between people as the norm there. One can only feel sorry for those few there who, despite everything, retained their human appearance.
