Haitians eating cats and dogs sounds ridiculous until you remember they were reporting on cannibalism just a few months ago.

Putting constraints on Ukraines use of weapons that we would never adhere to ourselves is kind of strange. And we are not talking about Ukraine bombarding Moscow. But telling them they have to try to shoot down the missiles coming in rather than attacking russian launch sites is kind of cynical.
@elliottcovert3796

In what sense is that “strange”? It would merely represent the West requiring Ukraine not to use the weapons in a manner that would harm Western interests. Allowing Ukraine to use the weapons however it sees fit is much worse than “strange,” it’s downright reckless.

@@elliottcovert3796Are you scared of world war 3 because we allow Ukraine to defend itself effectively? In your way of thinking we have to stall the war until Putin by some sudden change of heart decides to end the war or Ukraine has to accept losing a third of it's territory and exist as a less than sovereign neutral zone.

@@jabuknesselviech6673 that’s completely idiotic. We shouldn’t be sending any weapons there to begin with and actually makes me really angry. What the hell do I care about Ukraine and what am I trying to prove Putin? It’s insane and you must be a bot

@@atxmaps Yeah, most Americans are verifiably drunk on state propaganda and stuck perpetually reminiscing over the good old days of unipolar hegemony (e.g. see the polls in support of a no fly zone at the start of the war). Imagine an American making a shrewd and realistic appraisal of our modern geopolitical situation! On the day after OpenAI releases GPT-o1? Coincidence???

as a european i am shocked by the actions of USA and EU in Ukraine and against Russia since 2014. I knew that the western politicians go for a war when the Ukrainian USA-pawns (NAZIs!) burnt almost 100 russian speaking civilians alive in that building in Odessa, but hoped for some glimps of rationality and humanity in the West. From year to year i hope the west comes to its senses but they disappoint me again and again. Russia is showing a lot of restraint, but some time this will be over and then only allmighty god can help us, especially us europeans.

@@midnightdlthe 2014 Maidan massacre was essentially a false flag operation by Ukrainian ultranationalist snipers stationed primarily in the hotel Ukrainia, according to a verdict handed down on Oct 18th 2023, by the Shviotoshyn District Court in Kiev/Kyiv. Right-Sector and Svoboda played a key role in the violent unconstitutional ousting of Yanukovych, who'd just agreed to early elections and the establishment of an interim coalition government. Right-Sector claimed to have coordinated the Odessa Trade Unions Building massacre. Former leader of Right-Sector, Dmytro Yarosh, was hired by commander-in-chief Zaluzhnyi in 2021 as his personal advisor. Dmytro Yarosh had previously stated that Zelensky would be hung from a tree if he implemented the Minsk agreements. Commander-in-chief Zaluzhnyi met Blinken and Lammy at the railway station just the other day.

Dogs and cats comment may sounds funny but not even close to trump loosing support. Its typical trump comments. And It’s not fully made up stuff, it’s coming from some residents complaints. However I’m not sure it helps with country immigration problem.

Yes, withdrawing from ABM was stupid hubris. Dr. Strangelove though isn’t just parody. It points to the question whether we can think beyond MAD. You head in the direction of capitalist realism or something.

If the end result is more unnecessary death and blobbery, what difference does it make if it is inclination or political calculation. We are in a time where one needs to put aside the rest of Trump’s faults to get a better foreign policy outcome.

I find it endlessly fascinating that someone can be considered an expert & think that only the US or the West in general is at fault for everything. It's as if you think nobody else has any agency.
@sterlingveil
@sterlingveil 5 күн бұрын
What do you mean by "agency"? We're talking about US manufactured weapons (presumably). Why would anyone else besides "the US or the West" have "agency" in this context? Or were you making a point about NATO expansion?

People need to stop treating this war like it’s a goddamn tort case. Concepts like “fault” and “blame” matter in civil court but they don’t matter in geopolitics. It’s also willfully ignorant for the people who think Russia is to blame to elide over the decades of provocative actions which encroached on Russia’s sphere of influence that the U.S. took after the end of the Cold War. If anyone had tried to do those things in the Western Hemisphere, we’d have responded similarly. We have done so historically. Would we be “blameworthy” for doing those things again today? It doesn’t matter, we’d do it because it’s in our security interests.

@@sterlingveil You can start wherever you want, it is always the same pattern. It's "How else do you expect X to react, when the West does Y (thing that he doesn't agree with ideological)". It's as if China, Russia, NK, the non existent Global South don't have policy goals, security concerns or economic goals they are advancing actively on their own. @@elliottcovert3796 Everybody with half a brain understands that the Ukraine war has nothing to do with Russian security concerns vis-a-vis NATO. How do we know ? Sweden and Finland joined NATO without a hitch, the Russian border with NATO is denuded of all military assets. Hardly something you'd expect Russia to accept with a shrug, if you consider NATO a strategic threat. But somehow brainlets like you still believe RT propaganda.
