Sthus menaing they have time to dig in (build reinforcements) and hold the cocupied territories. The only resistance on the ground is the SDF which seems to block the rebels from occuping even more and faster. The rebels are supported by Turks primary. The asad regime only has a few ruzzians on the ground (believe me they not gonna get more in this year for sure bc of war in Ukraine). Only iran is the only asad regime can get but izrael and usa, so yeah... So simple talking asad regime is not ready for fighting and has no major allies to get fast help. They acted very drastically while overlooking rebels strong resposnse.
