Love my Wolverine. Sounds great on 308, 300BO, and 5.56. Have also shot it full auto with 300BO and 5.56. It lives on my Zastava ZPAP92 and completes the look I was going for. It's a heavy Bit

I have both. The Wolverine definitely allows for more gas adjustments from a KNS piston. With the Putnik I almost always have to close the piston all the way for the gun to cycle properly. The Putnik definitely makes your AK more controllable, it acts as a muzzle brake. The Wolverine has better flash reduction.

Have the Wolverine thanks to your Great Videos it coached me thru setting up 3 AK's and an AR or 2 All with the Keymo Muzzle brakes on All! Happy:-)

My experience is totally different from most on this thread. I have 2 Wolverines with the corresponding adapter for my Bulgarian and Yugo AK’s. Both have KNS pistons. Supersonic rounds are borderline hearing safe in an open area. Subs (ex- Brown Bear) are extremely quiet. Yes the suppressors are heavy and bomb proof but so are Ak’s. I don’t mind the weight. These suppressors perform extremely well and the lock up is “set it and forget it”. I’m using surefire pro’s with both of my guns so clearing the suppressor isn’t an issue. On my SLR 107 I’m using an SLR rifle works extended rail so I get the flashlight way up in the front. On my PAPM92 I’m using a Ultimak rail. I have zero experience with the Putnik. If you like it, buy it. I always recommend the PBS 1 Wolverines and I always get comments at my outdoor range on how nice the suppressors sound. I would change nothing. If you have a 14x1LHthread gun you won’t have to buy any adapters.

The thing with the wolverine is after a certain serial number it's a 10mm hole.

1-do you torque it to recommended specs? And I mean a torque wrench, not your calibrated arm/hand. 2-have you tried a wrap of plumbers Teflon tape on the muzzle threads?

As a lefty, I prefer the Putnik. I’ve shot the Wolverine and hated the gas ejecting to my face. The Putnik was pleasant to shoot IMO

Is the Putnik capable of engaging the detent pin? If not what has to be done to keep it from coming unthreaded?

It does not. Just needs to be torqued correctly. I did a video about it with the zpap85.

Just picked up my Putnik last week from ATF jail. Going to order a JMAC muzzle device and run it on my WBP 556 Mini Jack from Krebs Customs. Should be Spicy !!

I am fortunate that the threads on my Zastava M70 were spot on so I can run my Sandmans and keymo adapted R2 on a Jmac muzzle device without fear of a baffle strike. The alignment rod I bought from Griffin is perfectly centered in all 3 cans. I don't really need it but I kinda want the Putnik anyway just because it looks so damned cool.

I've had the chance to run both, people considering a dedicated AK suppressor should pick the Putnik. Its better in every way than the wolverine except for its girth, which can have trouble fitting through some shooting barricade slots.

Works as a muzzle device when suppressor is not installed and it protects the suppressor/ prolongs its service life.

Any suggestion for the wolverine is bad. The putnik is hub, semi flow through and just better. I hate my wolverine and have zero desire to suggest it. You have to buy 2 adaptors to get it to work with a standard can doubling the cost of adapting or if not doubling adding atleast 100 bucks if you have different host.

Hasn't the Putnik had quite a few quality control issues with welds and other things? It seems to be the PSA crap of the AK suppressor world.

The initial batch had an issue with the blast chamber not being welded properly. This was fixed and the turn around time was around 2 weeks. Compared to dead air and the 6 month waits.

I really regret getting my wolverines and from what I've heard, the putnik is no better. Super heavy (1.5lbs), not quiet (overbored), almost impossible to run lights around them or tuck them, etc. I'd rather run a nomad/omega/thunderchicken/etc as it will be much quieter for 1/3-1/2 the weight. If backpressure is an issue, then I'd adjust the KNS piston.

I couldnt get myself to get a crummy ak suppressor. I went with a cgs hyperion k and next will be a C.A.T ODB, spend a few extra bucks and get something much better.

@ironhockey116 the wolverine and putnik are easy to use on a ak, they are pretty much dummy proof but they are not great for performance. Decent yes but people should also consider other options. The hux flow thru can is another great option.
