What We Are Planing on Doing with Our Raw Land | How to Afford to Build a Home in 2024
Welcome back to the channel ya kookz. Today on the Vankookz channel we are going to talk about a few issues we have had along the way in discovering how we will develop our property to build our homestead. Building a home in 2024 seem like an unfathomable dream and might scare most people away. However we have found a loophole in building an affordable home and we discuss this in the video.
When we first started this journey we thought that we would buy a piece of land and build a cool contemporary style home and keep it all in a minimalistic style not too big and not too small. However after meeting with many professionals of all types from developers to architects to our friends that are contractors we were starting to feel like this was just a dream and not something that we could legitimately afford.
This is a more long format style video and goes into this topic in much greater detail but we hope it is helpful for you on your quest to own your own property and live on your own homestead.

I just watched a video by a woman who did a manufactured home. I think her name was Christine Michele. I found it really helpful for her thoughts and experience before during and after and all the unexpected costs. Might be good to include in your research. I think she was located In Louisiana. Check out home insurance prior to buying. Mine at the time was hard to get and expensive.

Congratulations....what a great couple of adventures lay ahead.....home and baby. What is the deal with the well? How are you getting that done?

Thanks! I would need to get it drilled. In the meantime I’m going to haul water. There’s services that will bring it out. It’s just not in the cards right now. A few neighbors have wells and a few haul it in. So I’m ok with whatever we gotta do for now.

No we were much more ambitious and thought we were going to be able to do a lot more then we realized that what we wanted to do was either out of our budget or going to take us a very long time to DIY. We are excited and ready for this!
