Putting Pulls on Metal Zipper Tape

Metal zipper tape is one-way tape meaning that the tab must be feed onto the tape from one end not both ends like coil zipper tape. I will show you how to identify which end to put the slider on from & how easy it is to apply.

Hi Janine! A very long time ago, the guys who owned zipper companies decided that the "little ladies who sew" really didn't need to know anything about zippers but color & maybe length. They decided to sell US what they made the most profit on, not what we needed. We're smarter than that!

How do you do a double zipper pull, with a metal tooth zipper, like you see on luggage? The zipper heads sit together facing each other and when opening luggage They separate. I’ve tried to add the second pull and they never zip smoothly. Are there special pulls for this application? Is it a totally different kind of zipper? This middle separating zipper seems to be a trade secrete. Thank you for any info you can share!!

Hey Rhonda! I walk the needle between the teeth in a "x" formation. Then if needed, I do it the other way too. Sounds like a new video!!

I have tried so many pulls for metal and I can not get them on any of the zippers I bought from your shop. I didn't realize the teeth were not shiny when I was buying them (I have had them for quite a while now). It seems that must be what is causing the issue.

hI zipper lady, thank you for the video. Now I know why my zipper pull cannot fit in a metal zipper because they are not meant for each other :( The pull I have are meant for coil zipper. May I know if I can use zipper pull for plastic zipper and metal zipper since the "sides" are the same balanced ones?

I just watched another video that did show that and it was by a company called Sailrite He used needle-nosed pliers to pull the teeth off and vice grips to hold the cloth part of the zipper. But you don't pull off the very last one until the end and then he used some type of heating element to seal the end of the zipper tape
