The crazy part, if I understood you correctly, is that the one made in Korea uses SAE sizes (11/32) and the American one uses metric (10 mm).

In reality I think the neck IS the feel of a guitar I did a re fret on a Fender MX telecaster neck with medium jumbo stainless and it is not my best sounding guitar but it is my favorite to play.

I purchased a $12 SS aluminum truss rod cover to see if it will cover the route on the SE. It covers it but is obviously not recessed and you will need to get lucky with the SE screw hole location because of the tight tolerance.

The tuners are a straight swap, the ferrules just need to stay in the respective neck
