Had a thought, you should get a portable large mirror to set up by the camera so you can see the front of your projects as you do them on the table. Love, love, love your videos! You have a beautiful spirit Laura. I am so glad I stumbled across Garden Answer. I think I will try and plant some stuff this year. Thanks for the inspiration!

BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love the way it looks, well done 👍 I know it was hard not to put more in there, I also have trouble with the maidenhair-fern and the Boston fern and I really love the maidenhair. Thank you so much Laura for all the great tips. I’m going to watch more!! God bless you guys.

The Maidenhair Fern is my absolute favorite fern. They are so delicate. But, I have the same problem you do. They do not last very long around me with the humidity and all. I will have to try the terrarium and see how that will work, at least I know it will not dry out it will probably drown. Great video, thanks.

Your arrangement is beautiful... but please keep in mind that a staghorn fern can get VERY large and grows shields that can cover the maidenhair!!! Russell is gorgeous!! 💖💖💖

It would be fun if you would film a video following Russell around your garden. Show him enjoying the garden. At least a segment of one of videos with your "wild life" in the garden (you know, the cats and Ben.) 😉 I know this channel is about gardening, but gardens are to enjoy and seeing them enjoy what y'all are creating shows the reason for it. Not just for looks.

I LOVE a fern terrarium! Another thing I’ve found to help individual plants is picking up a simple bowl- or vase-shaped glass vessel (readily found at thrift stores and antique shops) and inverting it over/resting it on top of a potted plant. My maidenhair fern is doing really well this way. And with the whole thing placed inside a footed planter it looks like a fern in a bubblegum dispenser...cuter than it sounds 😉 I also found a huge hurricane-style glass that I placed over a tall fern. It can be a more affordable option, especially for a single, more established plant. But I’m working on terrariums too! Anything to make these beauties survive indoors 🤞

Love the concept! If I put one of these together, I'd purchase "pixie/fairy" size plants so that i could, hopefully, enjoy the end product for a longer period of time. Most ferns will outgrow even the largest terrarium cloches very quickly if the humidity is right! Russell just had to make sure that everything on the table was fine. He IS your "watch kitty" after all! Thanks for sharing! ALWAYS plant love! 🌾💜

P.S. Although I've lived in Charlotte for 37+ years, it makes me sad and sorry that I can't meet you guys, Laura & Aaron, at the Southern Spring Show this weekend! I'm very sick & believe it's the flu! My selfish side would attend, regardless; but, I can't risk making Benjamin sick. I truly hope you both have a wonderful time in The Queen City! God bless you all.

Very informative video. I am going to try this method with a Rabbit Foot Fern I have that is growing quite well right now in a plastic fish tank my grand daughter let me keep. I have never had success with this type of fern but your video gives me hope I will now. I am also going to try the other two ferns presented in your video as well as they are also very difficult to grow and keep happy. Thanks again, Flo

Hi, love your vids! I've been experimenting with enclosed, humid terrariums for the past several years, and perhaps you may find this suggestion helpful. I've stopped using the "preserved" moss (the dyed stuff from craft stores) because it's not actually living anymore. This causes it to mold and it spreads to the other plants. I highly recommend using "mood moss" instead. You can find it at places like floral shops and specialty garden centers. It is actually living, and when you buy it it's in a dormant state, but once you water it pops back to life really quickly. Plus, it grows along with your other plants. However, I wouldn't recommend for succulent terrariums, as it will turn yellow after a while if not in a humid environment. Best of luck!!

I think your sun porch is just perfect for filming videos this time of year when it's a bit cold or windy outside. It's really nice in there! Great lighting. How are you going to water the terrarium? Will you have to lift off the lid or just tip it up or use the holes in the glass?
