Thanks for this video. This reminds me that I have sourdough starter that I should divide, use and feed soon. I love that you shared that the freezer seems to be a fine place to store from your friend's experience! Thanks for this video.

I'm very excited to say I've been using a recipe (for bread) which does NOT mandate continued feeding of sourdough. It is crazy, I've made it a few times and it keeps getting better. I think I should do a video on it. One just keeps the starter in the fridge, we remove what we need and feed that with the flour for that particular recipe. It's great, i abhor throwing away discard... and i'm sick of having to eat it on a schedule

I've had starter in the freezer for months that wakes up super fast. It's crazy how resilient it can be

it's interesting that most of the printed sources say "do not freeze' but the bakers that I know do it personally.

thanks Michael, you might think about giving bread making a try. Sourdough is it's own universe though

Off topic, have you ever made any videos specifically about your experiences living in Mexico? I've seen you referencing it in a lot of your videos and a lot of your videos are shot down there, but I've never come across a video where you talk specifically about your experience of living down there. If you haven't made a video like that, I'd love to see one, or short of that, I'd love to chew your ear off on the phone sometime about it. My family is considering a second place to put down a foot and Mexico is on our radar.

hi Praxis, I have not but I sure should esp considering the outcome of the election. I'm happy to talk about living in Mexico. We generally rent since owning a home out of the country has it's own challenges. We also stick to Baja (anywhere on the Baja) mainland is a bit sketchy unless you fly directly into and out of a particular city. Driving the Baja is easy and I do it myself...mainland is a different story. All that said, send me an email and we'll talk. BTW my name is Martha.
