April 8, 2011 - Los Angeles CA : Putzmeister America loads this 190,000 lbs / 70 meter concrete boom pump into the Antonov AH-124 cargo airplane in route to Japan Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to aid in cooling and rebuilding. Several of these machines are being flown by Putzmeister directly to Japan to expedite and assist in the crisis. Exclusive video from inside the plane! Concrete Equipment handles used equipment export sales for Putzmeister and was invited to be on location for this historic event.

Camera #1 was on a tripod. Inside the plane camera #2 was my handheld I turned on realizing I was seeing something no-one else might ever get to see! When was the last time you stood inside a Russian Antonov while loading equipment like this ??? Glad you enjoyed it.

Did you react on the chains being fitted to the top of the rear outriggers? Not sure if the designer of the machine would have been very happy with that.

It is also a really cool concrete pump 😄 Its an absolute monster and the biggest ever to be in normal daily operation. It weighed 86.000 kg or 190.000 pounds. There have been build bigger ones after this but they were not much more than prototypes.

a lot easier when the freight has wheels. takes the crew longer to set up the ramp than the actual cargo loading

Not really, there is some news clips but that was about it. I took the raw footage and there was two photographers from the associated press with me. I had two camera's running the one outside that caught everything and then my smaller HD nikon I had on hand.

Yes america does have C-5 galaxy, but it is illegal to use them for commercial purposes, they are used only for US military transportation, Russian cargo planes on the other hand are used for commercial purposes worldwide.

@@Teddy_Bass I wish!! This was all pretty much for the cause, Putzmeister had already sold the machines new to USA customers but when the demand was needed in Japan following the earthquake, Putzmeister coordinated the buyback/sale to the Japanese Power company who also paid for the flights. Because concrete Equipment handled Putzmeister used equipment sales on the west coast we were invited to be apart of this. Was definitely a sight to see first hand! Everything we did regarding that export was done for free, the machine was actually at the shop for several days prior to the load double cheering every possible thing before it was shipped off to Fukushima Daiichi 🛫

Concrete Equipment Inc. Nice work Man. Agreed some times its not just about the sale. It about been part of something bigger. Wouldn’t mind ticking this off the bucket list of machinery.

All of these aircraft were made for the Soviet Union and paid for by Soviet Citizens and most were built in Russia by Anatov Aircraft Co, Until they moved to Kiev on independance when Ukraine got its share of these Aircraft and the one finished AN-225.I guess they also got to keep the unfinished AN225 which now they will finish for China in Kiev.Ukraine.Also Anatov will no longer service Russia's AN124's because of the Conflict in Ukraine with Russia. From what I understand no one will be building AN-124s anymore and China will build AN-225s.So Anatov will soon be out of the Super Transport building process. After they finish the 225 for China. The EU and Russia are building their own Regional Transports so there is little room for Ukraines transports without Russian Buyers.which the government banned believing the EU wuld support them Sorry Ukraine that won't happen.
