I wanted to provide some extra info on the question about 15th, as I think Schezo's ending in that game is most likely the canon ending. It would explain why he's called a creeper by Arle in the localized versions of Tetris & Tetris 2 instead of a pervert, as well as explaining why he brings up that he's working really hard to prevent flubbing his vocabulary (at the behest of Ms. Accord) in the latter game.

Really enjoyed it 👍 BTW I always find it weird that in the first Madō Monogatari games the setting is medieval, but as the games progressed they started using more modern machines, the fridge in Puyo Puyo Sun's opening animation for example or Arle's kitchen in the end of Madō Monogatari: Chaotic final exam.

Fred and Neni could tell you better. But: - Lemres is not an adult, he's still in school. He's just lanky in the same sense Feli and Lidelle are short. He's just in a different age range than any other human from Primp we see. - And I think everyone is dead and replaced except Satan in the Shin Madou chronology. [And maybe Arle's soul who can't remember anything. But don't quote me on that.]

I got one that's kind of lore-adjacent: how much is SEGA allowed to reference the MM games and their stories? Arle will make references to being an "adventuring pro" and I think some sneaky trivia points will reference Madou trivia (the one that comes to mind is Witch's "name"), but obviously they can't outright use the world from MM.

14:45 I have a theory that Satan was the winner in the tournament. In Puyo Puyo 7 (in the English Translation of both DS and Wii), if you pick Ringo to fight Maguro, Satan will say: "I'm also the headmaster of another school!". And in 15th, he accidentally wished for camp training at his "school". Also in 15th, his AI is considered the strongest in the game, making him win the final match. Probably meaning that he won and now has his own school in Primp. I don't know if I'm 100% correct.

@@luigifan001 I'm not gonna look at those stats. It's way too big task for me to lay out, and not fit for a Q&A video. But if you want some pointers. In terms of raw damage I'm not sure because this is a puzzle game series, how are you supposed to gauge that? Everyone plays Puyo to level the playing field. Boss characters tend to be stronger then the average joe playable characters. Those include Satan, Ecolo, Ex, Marle, Squares, Possessed Klug, Lemres, and maybe Doppelganger Arle. The stories generally support that they are very strong. This next part sounds dumb, but if a character in a story mode repeatedly loses and shortly comes back for more, that's a sign that they're strong. (Just know that Squares has had a lot of energy absorbed, so him losing 7 battles in a row isn't entirely how he'd normally fair, and at least 1 of those 7 is a friendly match, and another is him having no control over himself.) Just look at their spells and see if you can find some utility for them, like Arle's Mind Blast is a spell that makes you dumber, that's useful. Or look at character traits, like Amitie is dumb as bricks, but she's pretty perceptive. Or Maguro's beauty beams.

But it is interesting to see how they compare with other characters like Kirby, sonic, Reimu, Goku, etc. Ecolo merging dimensions is low multiversal in that site, so, if arle is comparable, then she and her co would also be on that level. (ex. thats above all of canon dragon ball) Guess it is worth noting that arle could travel thru worlds in fever, even if accidentally.

Fair warning, I have not seen the full canon video, so some of these questions may be answered there instead. 1. Is the Shin Madou Chronology canon to any degree, is it only an alternate timeline, or is it's canon status up in the air? I remember reading a Japanese wikipedia where the creator of it notes that the entire story is more or less an alternate canon, but I literally only used Google Translate for that. 2. Follow-up to Question 1, if it's non-canon, is it an official but alternate piece of media, like the Sonic Archie Comics, or not? 3. How accurate are the official translations to both Puyo Puyo Tetris and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2? As a versus debater who's looked into Mario, I find myself almost utterly unable to trust the validity of official translations, I have been damaged too many times with vaguely "World" in Japanese being translated to Universe in English. 4. This is more a headcanon question than a lore question, but what do you believe The Creator/God would actually look like if visually depicted in any media? My best guess is something akin to Phantom God from Chaotic Final Exam given that entity's connection to Lillith and also both characters being written by the same person (Plus them literally being called "Phantom God"), although the Omniversal Battlefield wiki depicts him as an inverted, monochrome, featureless Ecolo. 5. Between the Sonic cast in Quest and the infamous "Everything is canon" tweet being directly in reference to Sonic in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, is it reasonable to assume Sonic and Puyo share a multiverse? 6. And finally, a more light-hearted question to round things off, is Witch Bisexual?

1. & 2. Watch the canon video. 3. Based on my understanding talking with Neni, Tetris 1 is a bit flawed in that regard. The basic gists are correct, but some things get muddled, like Japanese Sig is pretending bugs live in his arm to scare of Schezo, while there's no indication he's pretending in English. Or Lemres saying he's amazing when he's supposed to be a very humble character. It happens. Tetris 2 is a great localization job from my understanding. 4. I got nothing. But probably nothing like Phantom God. But I'm not going into that. Neni would know more about that. then I do. 5. Puyo Puyo Quest takes place on a island where time and space are a little out of whack. 6. Maybe. She does [redacted] Arle in her sleep. But when she's conscious she's far more likely to show interest in Schezo. Take these with grain of salt. Fred and Neni could answer this more confidentally and more informed then I could.

Oh two easy ones. 1) It's because Madou Monogatari is an RPG, with several different enemies as random encounters. Draco is such a random encounter. When they made Puyo Puyo, she and bunch of other random encoutners slowly morphed into a single character. Pretty much everyone in OPP and Tsu not named, Rulue, maybe Mino(?) Schezo, Serilly, any of the merchants, Mamono, Satan, and a few others that were single encounters were a species of random enemies at one point. And that includes the Puyos. Madou plays fast and loose whenever a character is one in a species depending on the game. That's how you get Satan's fan club full of Dracos in Big Kindergarten Kids, and a singular Draco party member in Saturn Madou. I think it's ambiguous sometimes if you keep running into the same exact enemy everytime. That's my understanding, Neni and Free know more about this subject then I do. There's just no real need for multiple of the same character in a Puzzle game. Fever sort of plays homage to this multiple in a species thing with DonguriGaeru and Onion Pixie. We always fight the same one (with two exceptions I'll mention later), but they are multiple in a species. Onion Pixie plays with this a lot. He's the head of his clan, and he fights another Onion Pixie in 20th, the sole time a character fought the same character (technically, and Doppel doesn't count) until Squares fought himself in PPT2. And you fight multiple Onion Pixies at once in Chronicle. Take some grain of salt on this one though, Fred and Neni could easily explain it better. I'm probably gonna be coming back often with questions tbh since this is probably my only source of answers for most of them. Alright, so what exactly is going on with some of the original characters in Quest? (Not including alts of main characters) Namely, the two that appeared in PPT2, Legamünt and Rozatte. German angel man seems to have some form of baggage and entire subplot involving other "heavenly guardians". There also appears to be a seemingly unrelated group of angels. What exactly is going on with all of them and what relation do they have, if any, to the main cast?

They have no relation to the main cast. Most Questies have no relation to the main cast and have their own backstories and places they came from. Puyo Puyo Quest takes place on an island where time and space are in flux all the time.

Don't worry about learning them all. Just find a design/series you like read their bios if you like and let your imagination go wild.

And with Rulue it's hard to find the moment when she got the ''Fighting queen'' no natural magic idea, she just throws Mino at you in her first appearance and even goes to Arle's school at the end.

The God God known as "The Creator" she killed was only in the Shin Madou Chronology. It's never something we saw for ourselves in a game or a book. It's a glorified "and btw this happened". It's also something you can take as canon if you want but current Puyo hasn't acknowledged it, and likely never will. If you mean Phantom God from MM Final Exam, they are still alive and doesn't fill the über god role. I wouldn't say Ex is filling in for The Creator, The Creator is the creator. It created the Madou World. Ex is the Keeper of Dimensions. His job is to keep things in check regarding the dimensions.

That's my understanding. He just is for some reason. I'm not even sure if he was a regular person or was always orn to be the Keeper or something.

It's just a simple idea several people have had. But it can stem from Schezo crossdressing in Shin Madou Monogatari. He's in a pink dress. I think its called Sherry/Shelly.
