Hi! PvZ3:WCHB developer here (I was a 3D modeler). We all understand that it was a big mistake to call our game PvZ3; But the reason I was okay with it, at the very least, was because there are MULTIPLE projects, fangames and mods, that have “PvZ2” in the title (Hell, you could say Reflourished’s name is “PvZ2 but better”), and PvZ2 is still supported, so I figured we were fine to do the same for PvZ3. It’s been well over a month since we realized that was an extremely stupid idea; I don’t understand why we have to keep getting dragged in the mud for it even now. On the more positive side, the new game we’re working on is turning out REALLY awesome so far, though we’re still mostly in pre-production. It’s basically the same team as WCHB, minus two people. Working on it has been amazing, and it’s gonna be very special; it’ll give fans what they want while also being its own unique thing in a lot of ways. Stay tuned!

PS: That pvzcc page is just our lead continuing it as a proof of concept that will never become a game. The current game we’re working on is an original IP.

My apologies if it came off slanderous, genuinely didn't mean for my take to seem like that. In any case, I did also hear about the other game, nothing about what's going to be on or anything but the fact it exists will be pretty interesting. @@knuxchuxpvz reflorish is a mod not a fan game. I don’t think ea has ever cared about mods. Heck that’s one the reasons people were angered when eclise started to have content that you needed to pay for on patreon.

From what i heared Pvz3 What Could have been was NOT MEANT to be the fangame actual name,it just start of with just concept and didn't start any development,they was going to change it anyways but got contact by EA first,they said they going to change the name and other stuff too but EA still want to take it down anyways,i very sure there are video explaining what exactly happen

Seeing the datamined content coming up, possibly an Almanc, seeing what zombies in a level (this just a picture with a zombie and purple backround. not necessarily saying it is, but in old Pvz3, thats how they showed zombies coming before a level) a new gimmick, lightning. and possibly new hiker zombies. I have never played any of the soft launches. I do want to play the game, because i feel like it has a chance, but no longer how much vpns i use, it just never seems to be installable. Finally someone saying the truth about What Could Have Been, one of the most disgustingly annoxius fan game i've ever seen, not lead by love for this franchise, that is having a rough time in this moment, but lead by pure ambition and arrogance towards the developers of Popcap. If you want to make something good with the IP, just do YOUR personal fan game with YOUR personal ideas even if it's not going to have much success, using Pvz3's name and assets is just a way to brag and show off to others, without any intension to make an actually good game.

the project literally started out as simple fanart made for fun and turned into something bigger, there was no arrogance towards the popcap devs, they didnt even use any pvz3 assets, everything is remade from scratch and the name is literally a placeholder

Those are litterally the same assets but slightly retouched just to brag on socials, just look at what he did with the suflower and the wall nut, it's litteally the same thing as the original. That name wasn't a place holder at all, it was supposed to be the actual name but due to legal problems they had to change it. Even if it was a placeholder or a code name, that would still be the real nature of the project, changing the name doesn't change the fact that the project is just a clone of PVZ3 but supposedly better, that wasn't made with the intention to make a good game, but with the intention to be acclaimed by that braindead part of this community.

@@nazfaz_ 1) My bad i didn't understand that part, you're completely right about that 2) The last PVZ game that got officially released was Battle For Neighborville, a pretty good game besides some lack of budget. After BFN there were only tech demos and soft launches of games that we don't know when they will come out. Calling games that are years away from their release "Slob"(and wanting to remake a game because you consider a soft launch "lacking") is just disrespectful towards a studio that is pretty cleary in difficulty right now.

@@elimBaz BFN from i heard was dissapointing, and a lot of people just prefer GW2 PvZ2 updates is really bad and made the game worse, to the point that there is no reason to play vanilla PvZ2 over mods like Reflourished or Altverz that just made the game simply better PvZ3 has been in development since 2019 and its never getting better, even after the full remake they did into the current PvZ3, the old one is Clash Royale ripoff and the new one is just Gardenscape with PvZ gameplay these are the kind of slops i was refering to, popcap simply doesn't care about what the community wants anymore, they only care about making money, it got to the point that its the community keeping the franchise alive with fangames and mods

But for them to pull a Surprise Pikachu face when PopCap and EA told them to cancel the project with that kind of a title, WHILE PvZ 3 isn't even out or fully finished yet.
