Awesome video, brings back memories of when I was a kid watching the Coos Bay Lumber and later Georgia Pacific log trains that ran from Powers to Coos Bay. Have a picture of a 100 car consist being pulled by a single EMD SW1200 equipped with dynamics. Will say that it was all downhill or level run the whole way, but impressive none the less.

Reminds me of Louisiana near Ft Polk, if you lived off base and didn't get over the tracks before the morning freight you were screwed. The freight took 35 minutes to pass, and then it went through the town of Leesville and screwed up that place everyday. it was the KCS.

Was not a LONG Long train, not at 70 cars. Camera work a bit shaky, but still a good catch. Kudos to your daughter.

Perhaps now Canada will stop accusing Malaysia of denuding the forest in Borneo. Malaysians will never use that much wood in ten years!

This is in the USA, Oregon to be exact, and trees like these grow incredibly fast in the Pacific Northwest. Most of our working forests have been harvested three or four times in the last hundred years, truly a renewable resource.
