Sorry, but for me, paris was the worst opening. There was a lack of tradition, and the dancers were boring, showing too much skin. The forced LGBTQ+ representation felt out of place and annoying. Additionally, there were too many segments where nothing much happened.

I watched this for the first time, I had not seen it before and came to make up for what I missed. It is now July 2024. Not far away, in 2018, it was truly a celebration of sport, peace and unity! The song “Imagine” sounded so touching, and even though we are just dreamers, at least for one hour and in one place, despite all the differences, people were able to gather and enjoy this celebration together. Thank you, it was touching to the point of tears.💞🔥🎉

This was such a great opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics, naturally the budget is way lower than the budget the actual olympics gets but South Korea nailed it, it was really inspiring, I am sat here watching from the UK feeling a sense of pride in Korea and an appreciation for the history and worldwide influence and success of South Korea as a nation, that's exactly what olympic opening ceremonies are meant to provide

I'm happy that you at least try to be respectable about it as opposed to like 99% of this comment section, but they are not comparable. The original Tokyo 2020 ceremony was scrapped when the games were postponed, and replaced by one which was consciously toned down. So basically you're comparing a ceremony which was years in the making practically without hurdles to a ceremony which was created in less than a year, while also adhering to social distancing standards.

Tokyo Olympics have a originally opening ceremony plan but it wasn’t performance because some Japanese company cancelled that plan to get profit… In original plan,lots of Nintendo and Anime character are play torch relay and Competition introduction..

To me, the most beautiful part of the OC was seeing the five kids on the raft being able to use those magical snowflakes transformed into magic wands so they can draw their dreams and transform into their future selves for a better world. It reminded me of how in kindergarten, we were asked to draw with our crayons what we wanted to be when we grew older and despite not understanding the lyrics, the song used for that segment added in to the tenderness of seeing these kiddos' wishes come true along with seeing the girl in black running with excitement to see her turn into a KPop star and the boy who becomes a teacher and seeing how he loves being one just made me smile as they want to make anyone happy.

둘다 맞는 말이야 우리나라 사랑해야되는 것도 맞는데 국뽕에 취해서 팩트를 무시하면 안돼. 이름 영어로 하고 영어로 댓글 달면서 도쿄 올림픽 과하게 비하하거나 역시 평창이 짱이다 이런 댓글 다는것도 바람직한거 아니고 일방적으로 우리만의 문화자체를 무시해도 안돼. 지금 MBC 올림픽 방송사고로 전세계에서 한극 욕먹고 있는데 이런 부끄러운 일을 국뽕에 취해서 잊고 넘어가면 안된다는거야 기껏 케이팝문화로 우리나라 이미지를 높여도 이렇게 한번에 무너져내릴 수 있으니까

Has to be my favorite olympics ceremony. Having a friend in South Korea gave me a time in high school to learn a lot about Korea, and ever since I have a soft spot for the place. For me the united Korean team kinda did this in as my favorite even after Beijing 2008.

평창 올림픽은 역대 올림픽 중 선수촌, 음식 관련 컴플레인이 단 1 껀도 없었던 성공적인 올림픽이었다고 ioc에서 평가했지요 무엇보다 중요한 건 각 나라의 선수들을 최고로 대우했음에도 평창 올림픽은 흑자였어요^^ 다른 올림픽들은 적자로 끝났다던데! 24시간 식당, 병원, 미용실, 안마의자, 증강 현실 체험, 각 나라별 체육 시설, 네일 아트 등등 모든 것이 무료였지요 온돌 바닥에 누워 티비 보던 외국 선수들 모습이 진짜 한국인 같아 좋았어요^^

흑자는 아니에요.. 적자긴 한데 다른 올림픽에 비해서 적자가 매우 적고 저걸로 한국 알려진 것과 장기적인 것을 생각하면 흑자 수준이다라고 하는겁니다

I thought the opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Olympics was the most amazing winter Olympics so far. It may be paralyzed because the Tokyo Olympics were the worst, but I truly think the Pyeongchang Olympics are a success. From Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️🇰🇷
