all jokes aside, i think the omega form would just be gramps floating in the background as you fight on a platform, while pokefloats would be a bunch of pokemon with their corpses crunched up together to make a stage.

@@youtubecat3809 I think you might be correct for the omega form because of some stages having this work around when switching to omega and battlefield. Two examples I can think of that work around to making these forms are the Minecraft stage and Mario Bros. stage, the original stage becomes part of the background behind this new stage form with textures still specific to the stage. If Pokéfloats were in the game, it'd likely use this work around for omega and battlefield forms.

So where you were thinking about Pyra having 2 smash attacks, I'm almost positive the second attack you thought was an alternate F-smash was actually dash attack. You can briefly see the signature smoke that is associated with dash attacks by her feet, near the start of the move.

I'd like to add something that you may have missed. The two characters that Mythra was fighting during her final smash was Ike and Joker. Pyra was fighting Ganondorf and Inkling. Later in the Direct, Skyward Sword HD and Splatoon 3 were announced. I'm now wondering if we'll be getting some FE Radiant/Radiance and Persona 5 news soon.

Going into the game I didn't expect much of her but she quickly became my favorite character in the game. That and her weapons are pretty cool and it's be interesting to see a moveset in Smash made more around defense than offense.

The redesign for Mythra in Smash Bros. is actually an outfit taken directly from the game. You can get an Aux Core from a side quest called "Massive Melee Mythra" that lets you change her outift into the one you see for Smash Bros.

The outfit as the aux core was added due to the differing art fir her spirit in smash through a patch. Smash created it first, then it was added to Xenoblade.

No, it wasn't. When Rex was added as a Mii fighter, Pyra and Mythra were added as spirits. Mythra was censored then. Monolithsoft added the redesign after the censorsoship in Smash.

With this reveal, I can already make 2 predictions: 1. Their logo will be the same as Shulk's. 2. The music tracks that they will come with will be added on to the current ones and be available on Gaur Plains, as well as the current tracks being available on their stage. (Similar to how Byleth's music tracks were added on to Castle Siege, Arena Ferox, and Colosseum, and Sephiroth's tracks being added to Midgar. As well as the current ones being available on their stages Garreg Mach Monastery and Northern Cave.)

Small detail about the new stage; the Cloud Sea is stated to have a similar density to water and you can swim in it, so it's reasonable to assume that characters will be able to swim on this stage like on Pirate Ship or Great Bay. I wonder if they'll bother to remove the damage that a few characters take while swimming, because it's clouds, not water. Also I'm guessing that Pyra & Mythra's alt colors will reference the various party members of XC2, both main story and Torna.

You actually noticed their ether lines! I knew they were present for the Final Smashes, but hadn't noticed if they were on the Level 3 Specials like in-game. Fun fact, those ether lines are basically their blood vessels, with ether acting as their blood and the Core Crystal as their heart. This is also true for the ether lines on their outfits and weapons.

This was super well done. I love seeing you compare the specials and also how quick but concise you are about what the movesets appear to be. And other people who didn't play XC2,people can find this pretty informative of how things were in their home game. Personally,I think I'm gonna enjoy Mythra more because I loved her speeding light attacks(As well as just having quick aerials and the like)in her game and it seems like Smash is being really faithful there. @@AlexEXE yeah I would say that the “second f smash” is dash attack. And for the move that you couldn’t figure out for Mythra is probably f tilt. And for Pyra side b, I think it’ll kind work like K Rool side b, being that the thrown projectile (K Rool being the Crownerang and Pyra being the Aegis sword) so the sword may be picked up by other characters as an item and it will respawn after a while if thrown, and I’m assuming that with the sword it can be swung like the beam sword. I have a feeling that if this is the case, there is a timer to how long someone else can keep it because, like K Rool, the move that uses the crown, or in Pyra’s case, all of their sword moves, they don’t have access to said move(s). It would be kinda stupid if you could just hold on to the main weapon of a character for the entire game. I’m done wasting your time now, assuming you read this.

Ok Sakurai and Nintendo, you guys gave Pyra and especially Mythra a little redesigning and even still added a little "jiggle" to them, so redesigning Shantae should be a piece of cake if she gets in as a fighter. Literally all they would have to do is make it to where her little top shows less cleavage, so now with this even saying Shantae is too spicy to be included as a fighter is not a valid argument at this point. Come on Nintendo you guys know the people want Shantae as a fighter, please make it so.

Everyone's asking if Pyra's blade will come back to her or not and I'm over here like "Bruh, if it DOESN'T come back to her then how is she going to fight?". It literally has to return to her and they just made it look like she was picking it up in the trailer. Otherwise she'll have to have an entire new moveset for unarmed combat without her sword. I don't think they'd do that and not show it off. Edit: I’m assuming it’ll be like how 2B’s weapons disappear when thrown out and then reappear on her back again. For the sake of Smash, I doubt they’d have it return like a boomerang except with no hitbox.

Really love your in depth analysis of Pyra/Mythra, I could tell the love you have for XC 2 how you concentrate more in their animation being faithful to their game than in their frame data. Unlike other analysis video that only concentrate in their frame data already calling then bad. You can also tell the love and passion Sakurai put in those two, their animation and model and Oh my GOD! Their animation and their movement are so beautiful executed with all their attack having personality and their special B in general was so good! true to their game. Damn! Really late comment but I wanted to point out something I haven't seen mentioned yet. They also resigned Brighid's outfit to have a soft pink layer of fabric over the V that's cut down her dress in the middle. I assume they did this for the same reason they used the Torna design for Mhthra and that's just to make it fall under the E+10 rating and not get it upped to T because of an overlooked background asset.

Great video! Can’t wait to play with Pyra and Mythra. They definitely have a good looking move set. Never played Xenoblade, but definitely thinking about it now that they got Pyra and Mythra in smash.

To me, I feel like the switch between pyra and mythra is their air dodge. If you can see on how they dodged link's attack in the air, they were not attacked/damaged. That's only what I think it might be or maybe it might actually be their down-b.

It is likely going to work the same as Pokemon Trainer, just faster probably. If you get attacked playing pokemon trainer you are actually able to switch to avoid getting hit

Fun fact about the mythra redesign The reason they did it for smash is to poke fun at the esrb because smash had to redesign her for the E rating and the in the dlc they also did that design to poke fun at the esrb too.

I think the move at 1:33 is probably her dash attack, if it is it actually looks pretty nice for catching landings
