yep, Adam gets M.A.D and rather than wanting to kill himself, he hunts down alternates on some false pretence that because he survived he's special. The fact that he survived assumedly numerous alternate encounters gives him this sense of invincibility which is why he dives head strong into this one, without realising that he's dealing with an actual alternate with the intent to kill, killing him and Jonah, of whom tagged along because of friendship and loyalty, as well as attempting to hold Adam back. The comment suggested that the alternate misunderstood them saying “We can come tonight” as “two nights” and then proposed that they stay three nights. It’s also implied that the alternate that called them is the same one that killed Cesar, his mom, and Mark (since the alternate and Cesar’s mom share the same voice actor, and that it used her voice to lure the two to Cesar’s old house)

Thats the thing about horror, the best horror has a really thin line of being absolutely terrifying to some and hilarious to others, the hole end of hereditary is one of those examples too, it was honestly one of the scariest things Ive seen in a movie, but I also read that some think its funny, or shining is also an example of it.

Because it became popular during a critical moment in the globes history, the pandemic, when most people were ordered to stay inside. With people staying inside, and the game being free on phones, everyone who missed their friends started playing it with them. Then it died because people realized that all it had to offer was "you're sus, and maybe my other friend is sus" But since it was so popular so quick, everyone remembers it, even if it died quick from it's simple premise. Basically TLDR; game got popular during pandemic, smash hit, died super quick, small game big impact.

Genuinely, I feel that the main issue with Analog Horror is due to it being oversaturated on the internet. It's very easy to make, due too you only really needing a vhs filter and a basic editing software; meaning even the most talentless of people can make an Analog Horror video that can still gain some attention. Honestly, if there was less of it, I'm sure less people would take issue with that genre. Also, Among Us. That was the other issue that impacted Analog Horror.

What I would guess, is that the Police does not help callers to help with an Alternate as the caller themselves could be Alternates and as Mark tried to shoot the Alternate with a Deagle, we can safely say that regular Police Standard Issue weaponry will have no effect on Alternates so there would be no reason to risk officers lives with Alternate encounters.

This, along with the fact that in the first one after just being in the same house as someone it was able to track them all the way to their house, I imagine if this happened to a police officer and they followed them home, assimilated(?) them and pretended to still be an officer they could potentially destroy the entire police department.
