15:25, the slide moving back into place I don’t think is even the gun firing, to stop the pistol from firing you’d have to grab the hammer which on most modern weapons is inside of the actual gun. The slide moving backwards is simply loading another round in the chamber. So now your standing there keeping a second round from going into you while you bleed out from the first one. Sef Da Fence
@egor6849
@egor6849 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on a pistol, a lot of modern handguns (like Glocks for example) have an out of battery safety, which will prevent you from firing until the slide is all the way forward. Still not worth using that move in self defense though.
@le-johnny9236
@le-johnny9236 2 жыл бұрын
If you pull the slide backwards the hammer cannot hit the pin.. at least that is so on the pistols I have. It really does depend on the pistol.

For reference, MoistCritical made a video where him and his buddies actually did a little lesson with him, and a lot of the time the things Dale teaches can actually be useful. People think that Dale's training is the "guaranteed foolproof plan to protect yourself" while in reality it's basically your last line of defense. You follow Dale's advice when you're at the point that you think that the person coming for you is going to kill you even if you follow their instructions. People dismiss his teachings because they think he's delusional, while in reality he's just trying to increase people's chances of survival by teaching them simple self defense moves.
@Ryusuta
@Ryusuta 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but what he didn't realize was that he was basically tricked into the same cooperative, scripted crap as ever. Like a stage magician getting someone to volunteer from the audience. You'll notice that what they DIDN'T do was an actual scenario with someone not agreeing to the specific setups and situations the guy wanted to be in. In short: yes Charlie did a video that made the guy look good, but that doesn't make these techniques ACTUALLY good.

He wouldn’t have just been fooled into being a stage magician’s subject. He actually confirmed and agreed with Dale that the best option at any time for a normal civilian would be to simply follow instructions or find a way to prevent the situation altogether. Some of the techniques themselves were good at accomplishing that “final stand” goal like grabbing the slide.

The issue I have with his stopping the gun while it fires is that… the reason the gun cocks itself after it fires is because the bullet as it leaves the chamber is also followed by a very high pressurized hot gas that causes the bullet to leave the barrel at the speed of sound, so what gun designers did was create a gas operated system that would take some of this high pressure gas, and force it back into the gun causing the gun to chamber itself before the gas pressure equalizes. Meaning the moment they pull the trigger even if you manually stop the slide from chambering another round, you have to deal with the round that was just fired and is now in your heart and lungs.

@arcanine_enjoyer
@arcanine_enjoyer 4 ай бұрын
On another note, the other, proper "Gacha" is based on gachapons, which you typially pull (hence why opening a gacha "lootbox" is called pulling) a mechanism that will drop a random capsule containing an item of any rarity from the machine. In true gacha games they usually are units that, unlike lootboxes, are actually useful. To compensate for their use, gachapons can never have exclusively paid units, so unlike lootboxes, they are actually generous in 90% of gacha games. Either by making the pull currency very easy to get or so abundant that you don't really need to buy unless you really want a unit. That's where the predatory behavior comes because gacha games often have absolutely broken units that are incredibly hard to get. Oftentimes a true gacha game is a subgenre and the game has its own genre, such as for example turn-based RPG or city management.

one thing really important that I've seen few people mention is that the tactics he teaches are somewhat valid. They are basically what you may actually be taught in some actual training courses, the issue is that in those courses they are presented in concept, how to manipulate firearms in hand to hand combat so the barrel doesn't get pointed at you any longer than it has to. In contrast he is trying to give step by step instructions on how to just win a fight, which, yeah no, thats not a thing. IF he instead was saying "now when the gun is in this position you want to grab it from here so that you can keep control of the barrel even if they try to move it" then that would be far more acceptable.

It's a great way to give yourself slide bite while also getting shot in the chest. The attacker just needs to move back slightly in order to get the slide back into battery and then immediately pull the trigger and shoot you. This is a very obvious reaction to someone trying to grab your gun, although the attacker probably would never press the gun against your chest anyway as the only way they could be disarmed is if the firearm was within reach of the person's hands they are trying to rob. Why do that when the firearm is perfectly capable of being fired just out of reach of the victim? Every single scenario assumes the attacker is an NPC that will just allow you to complete a very slow QTE and disarm them.

the cops in detroit take literally forever to show up, and they wont even bother coming if its a non violent crime. these guys are complete clowns though and their vigilantism will absolutely not help in most situations.

those "keychains" are the best thing (in that size) you can have in a fight. Here in Germany you aren't even allowed to have them when outside without a small weapons license. In a trained hand they are a deadly weapon

Wrong. The BKA officially classified the kubotan as not a weapon. The reasoning specifically states that while it can be used as a weapon, that doesn't make it one. Specifically, the kubotan requires special training to become a real threat. That's why you can also have a broom even when outside. Sure, with the right training, a broomstick becomes dangerous, but it's not its purpose

So is a pocket knife, and it’s pretty easy to use without special training. It’s just an extra spicy punch.
