One subtle detail I like, is how Jason operates guns throughout the game. The first guns have pretty standard reload animations, but towards the end of the game, new guns will have animations where he flamboyantly flips the magazine and such.

Okay I know it's been 4 years but at 31:40 the reason why they still call in reinforcements after you destroy the alarm is because outposts usually have 2-4 alarm switches. Destroying one only deactivates the one you destroy. If you walk up to them and interact to disable it, it disables all the alarms in the outpost. Hope this helps the 2 people who will see this comment.
@dingdongjr97704 ай бұрын
yeah no, i remember when i played this game after watching this video and didn’t bother turning off the tutorial pop ups, if you read what they say at the very first outpost they literally say shooting the alarm won’t disable the rest of the alarms lmao
@marchew42414 ай бұрын
Thank you, im currently playing the game lol
@_dettlaff4 ай бұрын
actually it is not that. this thing you mentioned happens mostly far cry 4. In far cry 3, if the enemy calls for reinforcements you can hear them saying they'll be there in 30 secs. pyro doesn't talk about that. In some outposts, random enemy might spawn around the outpost. They'll usually drive away from it but if they hear the gun shots (assuming you are detected) they will join the fight. So whole thing is the pirates in the outpost doesn't call their help. They just happen to be there. You don't even have to kill them to take the outpost but you gotta kill the reinforcements too if they call for back up.

I like the theory that the south island is boring practically on purpose. You killed Vaas, the chaotic centerpiece of the islands. You are on your way to replace him as the apex predator, everything below you is dull and boring now, even the pirates are replaced with boring, disposable mooks. Only the mission keeps you going, only the thrill that will come when you kill the one guy above you in the food chain.

@@JazzyUnderscoreTrumpeter "sherlock sucked on purpose" is kinda nonsensical, the focus came off the chemistry between Holmes and Watson and it seemed almost more like an action movie, and there was almost no motivation to do that. Whereas with this game, the second island being boring because you've beaten and become the epicenter of chaos makes sense. In the same way that only Hoyt was above Vaas, Hoyt is the only thing above you. Everything else is just food to play with, where you have to make your own fun out of your insanity and power as Vaas did. The only thing you have left to play with is your own mind, the only thing you have to fear or face is Hoyt. That's my theory anyway.
@JazzyUnderscoreTrumpeter4 жыл бұрын
@@cheesoid6628 that's understandable, I didn't mean to come off too condescending toward you, the justification just sounded flawed and similar to desperate fans of something else I appreciate trying to make excuses and lampshade. I think if their intent really was to show how little pleasure he got from all the senseless violence he'd engaged in there could have been a more... engaging...way to do it, honestly, not something I've thought super deeply about so I admit my criticisms are inherently less valuable because I'm just pointing out what I perceive as a problem without offering solutions. To me, it felt like they overloaded the begining, but wanted to stretch that bit out for some reason and has always seemed like a low point in a really good experience. I can't discredit your theory entirely, it's viable, I would just have hoped that if that truly was the case they leaned into it all a lot more. I remember gliding fondly, but it seemed to get caught up in a cycle weirdly derivative of...itself. I don't even know what I'm on about, man... just know that I read your response and really appreciated seeing it!! I have ADD, not an excuse, simply a factor I live with. I love to write, problem being I have a general write-as-I-go style which leads me to...this; unintentionally writing essays at people trying to start a dialogue that rarely ever falls through because walls of text scare people away and tend to limit the very audience I'm trying to reach. I'm aware of it and it's something I'm working on, with... varying... degrees of success. Just know that I'm apologetic if my initial tone seemed dismissive and I really appreciate your thoughtful response and willingness to engage in constructive dialogue. Anyway, essay over...think it coulda been done better, but I can still see where you're coming from. Peace!!

1:39:30 i actually like to imagine the southern island being so barren is more so due to Hoyt's influence over there, seeing that him and his private army have occupied there more than the northern island. They're much more tactical with the jungle setting: knowing that they won't operate as well in foilage and any other natural source that isn't the solid ground underneath their feet. so they adapted by clearing the trees so that it's definitely much more accessible to them. it goes to show how much more bigger of a threat they were than the Pirates: making you so vulnerable out the open

I have an idea for far cry 6. I think Vass faked his own death at his compound by grabbing a pirate of a similar build and burning his body so then it looks like Jason killed him and burnt down his camp. That developer never 100% said that Vass died, he said that Sam and the Pirates referenced his death however what if the Vass fooled them. Anyway though. Cut to 10 years, later Jason is still dealing with the trauma of what happened to him on that island. However he now lives in a Northern Australian city (Cairns for example) with a wife and kids. One day Jason is walking into a pub where he see’s Vass having a drink. The 2 of them get into a fist fight that gets them arrested, however while in lockup Jason’s entire family is murdered by the daughter of Hoyt (because representation) who now runs an empire twice the size of her fathers, she has fully taken control of Rook island and suppressed the rakyat to an underground resistance. Jason an Vass put their differences aside to work alongside each other to take down Hoyt’s daughter just for Vass to betray Jason by taking over the rakyat and Hoyt’s daughter’s empire.

Honestly the edits themselves are too jarring. Like a 2 hour video is fine and I'm actually interested in watching him go through the game. But the amount of memes is making it hard for me to keep watching. I don't need all these memes to keep my attention, it actually does the opposite because it takes me out of the video.

@mattfowler79124 жыл бұрын
@erin That's a really fair reason for this type of video format. I probably wouldn't pay too much attention if it was a plain video over an hour. I wasn't trying to bash on pyro as much as just saying what didn't work for me and hurt my experience watching. Someone to compare him to is NakeyJakey who does have a fast editing style and jokes thrown in a lot, but his feel more connected to the video than some of the jokes I saw in this.
@dirtfriend4 жыл бұрын
@erin yeah as someone over the age of 12, pyro's crackhead editing is pretty obnoxious, but he has some interesting points about both the mechanical aspects of the gameplay as well as the philosophical aspect of the storyline and the growth of brody & co, but the video feels at odds with itself. it's jarring when he's trying to present a genuine analysis of a work of media while playing the funny bruh sound clip over and over on top of it

By the exact wording of "He took my brother and I will do anything to get him back" Jason could easily mean either "He killed Grant and I will do anything to even the score" or "He kidnapped Riley and I will do anything to save him". A fun fact about the Hoyt Boss QTE: he can actually die just by the first knife in his waist. I found that out by sheer chance. Hoyt just looks at you in shock and then falls over. So that you can actually go more overboard with the two knives in his head is a good indicator how much Jason enjoys raveling in the violence and madness of the island. Another thing is that this Video and my latest playthrough of FC3 reminds me how much I miss Ubisoft's old games and their philosophy behind making a complete single player game with no "service" attached to it. Their whole "games as a service" schtick is probably the reason we won't get new games of their other IPs (I still miss Rayman, Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell) or games the same caliber FC3 was. Anyway great video, I really enjoy your long analytical videos about videogames or videogame related things. Keep it up.

1:10:28 Maybe someone already said this, but the beanie guy is named Vincent Salas. He was going to be in the main story as a very key moment for Jason's mental state. You were supposed to save him from a camp where Vaas would have been as well. You were going to in that drugged / "enraged" vision (like the QTE with Buck) where you would need to fight some enemies and Vaas himself, only coming to the realization you didn't kill Vaas, you killed your own friend, being a major influence on Jason's downfall on becoming a psyscopath. Due to time issues and not knowing how to incorporate this into the game well enough, his scenes were all scrapped but some of the elements were kept in the game, such as the fight with Vaas being an one time boss fight instead of two, and re-using that idea for the killing of the rebel group in Jacob Seed's area in farcry 5. His missions and dialogue were scrapped and they just hinted to his death as the "guy who got sliced open" like Vaas said at 1:10:30 Bummer, would have been a cool addition to the game.

In case I didnt explain my point clearly. (English is not my first language and it was also 5am). But the whole "banging on his chest" while saying these words just feels like him recreating the moment Citra made him stab probably even a loved one to death and that memory is what he is trying to erase with fire. (Killing Vaas loved ones to surrender himself to Citra) I dont think Citra built those human hangers mainly for Jasons friends but it was also used to force other "warriors" into "choosing the right path". "You are fked Jason" "She is going to make a warrior out of you huh?" Another thing I think should be mentioned is the characters use of space when talking. They dont feel trapped by the island, but instead just like Vaas they move in this dancing fashion, claiming and owning as much room around them, just feels like they move in a fashion like waves, crashing against other people. (Instead of the common walk straight from point A to B, Vaas tends to take as much room with his arms to the sides, making his image bigger but never violent, he just seems to move as on a current)
Vaas - "The first time I ever killed was for my sister. You see, the thing about our loved ones..OUR FKING LOVED ONES, is that they make us choose... Who is it going to be? Me or them? THEM OR (and after saying the next word he proceeds to bang on his chest as if he had already made the call to kill this person for Citra and recreated the stabing in his mind and manifested it phisically as a memory that overpowers him) ME?!

Gangnam Style and K-pop artist Psy are both very anti-American, with Psy writing the song as a way to mock a lifestyle mass consumerism; thematically it makes perfect sense for the pirates to play Gangnam Style as they murder. :)

It's absolutely incredible that pyro can fill *two whole hours* with flashy editing and engaging visuals over his great descriptions and narrations of the game. This is such high quality and well made content that it just baffles me. Thank you, pyro, for improving the overall quality of this entire platform.

"You know where I'm supposed to go, don't you?" "No mate, I just know where you're headed." What an incredible line that was

I'm gonna be honest here. I wish you would create more content like this. I know it takes a lot of time and effort and might burn you out, but it's great. I can easily sit through these two hours and that says something. Usually 30 minutes is my max for a KZbin video. Well done man.

I genuinely need to say this, Pyros content is the only I've watched ever since the skin insanity and the human Malteser and Indian man reviews movies. For all these years I've enjoyed his content and I think I actually have watched every video ever since. Classics like car sex will never be forgotten. His channel has evolved and coped with the changing landscape of KZbin but pyro always seemed to go have stayed true to who he wants to be on KZbin. He really is just a genuine guy you'd love to have as a friend. Thanks Pyro for 5 years of good content. I even turn off AdBlock for you.

I think Vaas opening his eyes after you kill him symbolises how Vaas and Jason's experiences on the island will now forever irreversably stay with Jason for the rest of his life
