For anyone wondering about the second case, the reason Eric Millerberg got 6-years-to-life was because he got convicted of child abuse homicide, _NOT_ first-degree murder. In fact, in 2006-five years prior to Alexis’s murder-Utah House Bill 102, aka "Lori's Law" (named after murder victim Lori Soares Hacking; very sad case) was signed into law. It increased the minimum sentence for first-degree murder from 6-years-to-life to 15. To put it simply, Utah sentencing guidelines are unbelievable & utterly ridiculous in my opinion. I hope Millerberg is kept there for a VERY long time.

So let's say you're getting charged and the prosecution DOES highlight you used the fifth amendment. A good defense would then say "My client has felt that his words would be better represented through someone who knows the court systems better. Do you have a problem with my client exercising his rights?" Boom, not only are you safe, but also now the prosecution's character is called into question.

His mom planned her husbands death and their family was forever changed. My jaw dropped hearing his name again since its been a few years. My poor friend Robbie and his sister (the children) wanted to believe with 100% doubt their mother had nothing to do with their fathers murder during the trial but what was done was done.
