About the bigotry over companies like Nintendo and Disney. These companies parasitize and exploit the nostalgia and adult audiences that grew up with these companies, thus developing the Stonghole Syndrome. For example I was never a fan of Nintento because I didn't live in the U.S., and the actions of that company have greatly affected my view of it, meaning I will pirate their titles without remorse because they haven't earned my consent and trust. Or another example Valve despite being a very quiet company that stopped releasing titles since 2013. They are now in a passive state, even after the release of Half-Life Alyx and the upcoming Deadlocked. I will be loyal to this company, as they have proven that they can make adequate decisions on different spectrums. Of course they had a failure with Steam Machines, and they shit themselves with Steam Greenlight. But now they've released Steam Deck, and they've torn up the handheld console market, plus they've helped Linux become a competitive platform at least with gameplay thanks to Proton. Steam Greenlight they removed though the failure with Artifact, they chose not to mention it. Which is right. The decision to port old assets and mechanics from CSGO to CS2 without creating the game from scratch is a questionable idea, but I basically understand that this game is the basis for the entire cyber sports base - so it's important for them to have as smooth a transition from the old engine as possible. And I'm really surprised and amazed that they managed to create Danger Zone inside an engine that was originally designed to load individual levels so your computer, well, didn't explode by rendering open-area maps. And they zatize that this mode will be back, and I'm sure it will have a maximum of 30 players since battle royale is already an unpopular mainstream gamemode. I can't criticize their decision to add this mode to CS as they still tried to play it with their mechanics that basically fit the CS style. Well, or another Microsoft company. Even if it's not an entertainment company, they have a very significant contribution to the history of computers starting with IBM. And I have honestly tried to switch from Windows to Linux, but I have to learn the system from scratch to be comfortable there. And no matter how “useful” it is, like the example of vegetables not tasting good when you were a kid. It's a very difficult task like quitting smoking when you've been doing it for 10 years. Microsoft Windows has too much influence on the world's infrastructure. And the fact that they release sloppy updates and gosh forbid the Windows 11. It's the result of monopoly and lack of competition. As a computer user who has been on Windows since XP, I just can't switch to Linux in free time. Because it is a huge pain the ass, which requires me to learn different software that wasn't ported in Linux, not to mention retraining my behavior with a distribution that I am comfortable with. Let's take Google as an example, which dominates the market of digital technologies and mobile operating systems. Today you have two choices: Buy an Iphone or buy a Chinese Xiaomi that you can root only after 30 days because today companies do not want their phones to be used by users who want full control over it. And it's crazy because you pay for a phone and you are forced to use junk apps that are pre-installed after purchase and you are not able to uninstall/disable them. Now no one in their right mind will release their own mobile OS because the analog will have features that will not allow the system to develop normally. If not in the worst case, it will die out due to sanctions from Apple or Google. Well, or their browser Google Chrome, which dominates the browser engine market, and their competition is Firefox, which lives on life support, since they apparently work only in the negative, if their standard browser is Google. Or Google Search itself, which will never catch up with DuckDuckGo, Bing. This is why degenerate solutions like collecting from various popular sources and slop shitting by an AI appear. Not to mention venality, advertising and a banal lack of responsibility. The same goes for KZbin, no matter how other services try to compete with it. No one will seriously use analogs today. Im sitting here brainrotting on Pyrocynical, will he upload videos on different platforms? Of course he will not do it. Even if you try to move to different platforms and renounce Google services, you are only making things worse for yourself. Thereby lowering the quality of life on the Internet. Of course there will be people who are seriously engaged in all this, but personally I will have to spend years of my life just to get used to a different environment, which by the way can be unstable

No Linux can basically be made to be the exact same as windows. The reason I use it is it is more secure doesn’t spy on me. It’s much faster and I can make it look cool. The reason people think it is like terminal only is because the Linux terminal is much better than the windows one making it much more useful. Also Linux has things called package managers where you can download open source software for free from like an AppStore thing Linux is very similar to mac it’s based off of Unix which is what max uses

While Nintendo is indeed Japanese and out of touch, that's not actually the main reason they behave this way around fan projects -- it's actually same two reasons Disney also do it (not to defend either of them): a) Preventatively, to stop fan projects or minor infringements from being mistaken for official releases and doing damage to the IP's reputation, however unlikely this is. b) For legal precedent, so that when they go to take down any project or infringement they actually care about, defendants would have a harder time claiming Nintendo/Disney are inconsistent about protecting their IPs and that other infringements have been selectively left to their devices. I don't know how potent this strategy is or whether this base is actually worth covering, mind you, but I do know that both companies still just want to be safe regardless.

I did once have a Nintendo game on PC. It was a DOS port of the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros. Having never owned a Nintendo console, I've never actually been able to play their games (legally) since I was playing a 40+ year old game 25+ years ago. They're like the Apple of gaming.
