There are some 1440p 27" 60Hz IPS business monitors around, but 'gaming'-branded monitors have evolved so much that 1440p 144Hz 27" VA panels can be found for around the same price as those business IPS monitors now. Although the 'gaming' IPS monitors do start somewhere around the 300 USD equivalent mark, so IPS gaming monitors aren't exactly that cheap yet. I don't know what the monitor market is like in Australia, but here in New Zealand I can barely find any business 1440p monitors around, and if I do, they are so close to the price of those gaming monitors with higher refresh rates that I'd get the gaming ones instead. Those VA panels aren't that bad, although they look a bit washed out and 'faded' out of the box compared to IPS, they still have more accurate colours and wider viewing angles than TN panels. I would still recommend you to do your own research though, since VA has its own disadvantages such as higher response times than TN and IPS, which may be noticeable to some, and can be usually reduced by selecting the overdrive setting recommended by reviewers. Furthermore, most 'gaming' monitors come with quality control issues such as backlight bleed, which happens on even some of the highest end models costing thousands of dollars. So if you do go with a gaming monitor, it will be a bit of a lottery here whether you get a perfect panel, or one that is a total mess, although most retailers (especially local) are willing to accept returns of the bad ones of course. Do read their return policy first though. As for the 400-series and 300-series chipset support situation, AMD has indeed confirmed support for Zen 3 will be provided on the 400-series motherboard, in fact I just heard about this a few days after I posted the question on that original Q&A video. Although I'm not sure if they'll be supporting 300-series chipsets either, but they certainly can. The way they're doing this is by getting rid of all the microcode for CPU generations below 3000 series, such as Ryzen 2000, and Ryzen 1000. Although there's a more extensive support table/'graph' on the AMD blog post showing this in further detail. So, please don't update the BIOS on your system until you're ready to pop in that new Zen 3 CPU. And I agree with what you said about AMD if it weren't for them backtracking on the CPU support thing. I think of it as an anti-consumer, "Intel-like" thing. Now, tablet OSes. Let's be honest here, iPadOS is almost clearly the dominant winner of the tablet OS. I suppose Android tablets could be more popular, but all thanks to Apple's much, (much) longer software support, good selection of apps, tight ecosystem, well-polished and optimised software, and now Apple's recent addition of OS features like multitasking, mouse support, etc, iPads have remained the most popular choice of tablets for a long time pretty much. And I'm saying this as a person who is generally not a fan of Apple products (or at least not anymore). Lastly, one of the reasons why Windows 7 is still widely used (although my sources indicate that its market share is less than 25% of all Windows versions now) is because of the extended support packages, don't forget that. Microsoft have offered ESUs to Win 7 business customers so that they can continue receiving support as they slowly transition to newer operating systems like Windows 10.
