I absolutely love Cities and Knights as well. That expansion kind of blew my mind way back when I first played it! Also, a big congratulations on reaching 40 thousand subscribers! 🎉 I'm only aware of a few board game focused channels that have exceeded that number. Kudos to you and the content you put out!

Cities & Knights also blew my mind just from reading about it, thus me buying it to gift to my friend just so I could try it :) I still have it on my shelf, I really should get it played again. It's been honestly around a decade.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the 40 thousand subscribers, thats huge! I'm bummed I missed the live Q&A, because I see questions being asked in the chat that you skip over (or I guess cut out) of this video, and I was curious about those as well. I'm guessing they are cut because mostly the answers are 'no' or 'I don't know' (like the questions about the geeklists, or the controversy on Vilticulte coop)?

Yeah you guessed correctly. I didn't really have a substantive answer to them so I cut them for this version.

Hey, I have been giving Alex's BoardGameCo channel a try recently. (I have mixed feelings but I'm still watching.) One thing I see him do, which I think could help you - snagging more people to view or to stay viewing - is that he does a quick 5-10 second teaser/thesis statement at the beginning of his videos. e.g. "The question in no way is whether I like Brass. It's an incredible experience. The only real question is which one of these do I like more?" That is out there in the first 0:08 of his video.

That is an interesting note, I've seen that at the start of his videos too. I'm not really sure that would work with my objective video style though.

@@GettingGames Just a thought. I don't think he's going for huge shock value or anything. Just a fairly innocent teaser/thesis statement, that he qualifies quickly afterward.

Settlers of Catan is my most played board game. I used to play that 6 times in a weekend. My buddy had a Corian board and wood frames made for it as we had played it over 300 times since it came out. I love Cities and Knights as well.

I agree on all the sentiments on Gloomhaven you've stated. I feel I got a lot out the game as it was, but I doubt I'll ever see the end of it. Now I'm much more cautious about the length of campaign games before starting on them. I also value a game higher that offers strong one off scenarios in addition to a shorter campaign.

I’m in the group of power grid being excellent. It’s my favourite euro style game that I wish we could play more of!
