about the complications you had. Keep in mind that Fibromyalgia and your other Neuro disease are also immunodeficient ones and we get infections and complications at times with any surgery. I had my top teeth removed and I had a big complication where I hemorrhaged and it scared the crap out of me and my dental hygienist. The surgeon even put sutures and a layer of dissolving gauze with another row of stitching so I would not bleed out. It was such a freak complication and I feel that what you went through was the same. Simply a freak incident you can't really pinpoint how you got so sick. I am so happy for you and also happy of how supportive you primary doctor is. It always boosts the moral when our doctors listen and support us in our decisions. I have got to get help with this dang foot. I have build up of calouse from being on my toes all the time and it hurts so much. LOL I am starting to try to get out of walking on my toes habit but it will be long and hard. LOL Love you girl! This was a great video. xo

@@MrsMelissaM The funny thing is I am deathly afraid of Dentist yet with all of the 10's of surgeries I have had I trust them enough to go back. I couldn't be happier for you. You look wonderful! I had a full face/neck lift about 12 years ago in Thailand. Friends and family thought I was nuts to do that. Like you I had researched it to death, met my surgeon online and had a virtual tour of the amazing hospital I was going to. There were no complications and I was thrilled with the results and I didn't pay more than approx $4000 for the entire face neck upper and lower eyelids. And we had a great vacation afterwards. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Medical tourism is real but as you say research research research. All the best Melissa, I love your spirit!!

Very interesting..I so can relate to two things you mentioned...I am on Keto and my husband isn’t, I cook him regular meals so I do understand the mental aspect of retraining myself to not want his food. Also, my body is a road map of stretch marks and saggy boobs! I got my first stretch mark at 4 months pregnant...no elasticity at all. I have a husband that loves me for me and it doesn’t bother him so I don’t think I will ever have skin removed. Having said that...at 62 and losing this weight..my skin is different and I am noticing a lot more of the crepey skin. But hubby has it too! lol we’re getting old. Love you and I am enjoying watching your success! You look amazing!

Melissa you look wonderful! I am so happy that you are doing well. Thank you for answering so many of our questions and being so open and honest about your surgeries and after care. I have 3 questions: 1. was your emergency surgery covered by your insurance? 2. What kind of and format (i.e. pills, chewables, liquids, etc.) of vitamins and minerals are you taking? 3. Were these vitamins/minerals recommended by the surgeon/clinic in Mexico or your personal physician here in the states or something you researched on your own? Thanks! Love ya gf.

Hi dear, to answer your questions...yes my surgery in the states was covered 80%. The vitamins are required by the doctor, at first I was only on chewables or I had to crush them, now I'm on just a regular capsule pill. I take them morning and night. If you are interested in knowing what they are, you can email me or DM me on facebook or Instagram! Luv you too! xo

I had my gastric bypass done 6 plus years ago. I had diabetes, heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension. I was also one month away from turning 66. Because of my health issues, my insurance ( Medicare) paid for my surgery. In fact, insurance companies are paying for more people to have this surgery than ever before if they have any of the obesity related diseases. I am still following most of the diet and have added more foods to my diet. I drink the occasional diet ginger ale, maybe once a month. I prefer seafood and chicken as beef and pork are still hard to digest. The doctor said that was typical. I’m careful about fatty foods as they still can make me nauseous. I love pasta, but it still makes me feel bloated, so I eat it rarely. Yes, the skin sags and I would love to have surgery, but at almost 73, probably won’t waste the money. I did have a fair hair loss and it has never come back to what it was. I do relate some of that to age as well as the surgery. I only wish I had done this years ago. Two of my sisters and a cousin have had this all with the same doctor. If you are considering this and have any health problems, this could be the biggest help you could give yourself.

Did you have to go to Mexico to see the Dr. Before anything happening? Also did you leave that info below for the dr. That did your surgery? I might have passed it up.

Thank you so very much for sharing . May I ask what was the BMI was that the doctors wanted you to be before surgery ? You are the Best 💖
@MrsMelissaM5 жыл бұрын
Hi Myra, they didn't give a goal for anyone. They just won't operate on someone that has a BMI lower than 30. And once it goes about 55 they really get concerned and the operation is harder on the patient and for the doctor!

Hello Ladybug your looking fantastic. I know you maybe getting some people still not understanding why. But I think you did it for you not anyone else. I had my Gastric Bypass in 2005, I loss a lot of weight very fast. I called my after care team which they had the Dr. call me back. He told me Mrs. Lovett I don"t tell people that I done GBP on to eat Baked Potatoes with lot"s of butter, which really helped a lot. I do drink coke but I sip on them all day and save the rest for later I leave it open until it is flat lol. I do eat sweets ice cream I keep it a just very small bites. I have over ate something that I know is a no no, but this girl had to have what ever I wanted. I have not gained my weight back. i love you my sweet ladybug. your may need to call you my.beautiful butterfly. Because your coming out of your cocoon to become the beautiful Butterfly 😍😍

@@MrsMelissaM Girl you will never believe what we have done. Sold our house on the 15th on we are homeless. We have rented a place for one month in Mississippi to see if we like it and if we can find our home on or near the beach. I'm hoping on the beach, but I don't think I need to be a picky witchy bitchy LMAO 😂😂😉😉😘

When I had my done about 18 years ago my insurance here paid for mine. Apparently so many people are having it done insurance figured a way to get out of paying for it. Too bad. I have never regretted it. I will tell you after a while you will be able to eat poorly again so guard against that. I thought I wouldn’t be able to eat again so you will still be faced with temptations.

Hi Sharon, that's what I was talking about when I said I had to look at food different. It's so hard, people think this is an easy fix. It's not easy, it's just a tool. Thank you for your advice! xo

I had mine in 04, and my insurance paid for it. I would do it all over again. But like you said it is just a tool and you can mess it up. I still do go up and down a little bit but I am over 100 pounds lighter today still then when I had surgery.
@MrsMelissaM5 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzzanne, congratulations! I love hearing that you've kept it off all that time! That's wonderful! I know I have to still work at it everyday for sure!

Hi I love you but forgive me if I said it did not sit well with me saying that the Dr. in Mexico had better track record then 7 drs. in the USA . As someone who works in the healthcare business ( not a doctor ) & worked in different countries the USA have the best doctors in in the world. God bless & best wishes 🙏

Hi Mary, I do really appreciate your experience truly. But honestly the doctor that I went to has not had one fatality and very few complications, less than 1%. So I was pretty confident with him. Love you too! Oh and btw, thank you so much for being so kind and respectful in your comment. I wish everyone who didn't agree were so considerate. The world needs more people like you!

MrsMelissaM Beauty Hi I am sure the one you went to is a great doctor I am not saying he is not good but we do have here in the USA great ones very talented and superior in their fields thats all. Thanks for your compliment God bless you and yours wish you a speedy full recovery 🙏

What is the protein powder that you used that was tasteless? I seriously need one but I just can't tolerate one that is so yucky. I am 4 weeks post-op from my panniculus. This is not a tummy tuck bit I did give up about 10 lbs of excess skin and even my navel. I also had Lipo in the upper part of stomach. My husband said good God woman he cut you half into. He did get some of my muscles back and tightened up so I'm looking forward to starting Body Groove as soon as he gives me the go. Check it out here on KZbin. It's Misty Tripoli. Long comment. So glad you are doing well and waiting for a new video. Love & prayers. Sue

Hi my beautiful friend! You were talking about how your family eats what they want yet are still supportive of you, so in the same vein, this will make you laugh, I hope! My husband who is naturally thin can pretty much eat what he wants and not gain weight. Darn him! I’ve seen this man eat a hamburger in two or three bites but when it comes to taking an ibuprofen, he turns into a pill smashing maniac!! Seriously, you know how small a typical ibuprofen tablet is and it’s hilarious what he goes through to make sure that it is powder-like. I literally can’t stop laughing when he goes through these machinations! I just look at him and tell him that it’s a good thing that men don’t have to birth children. War yes, birthing no. 😂. People are funny!
@MrsMelissaM5 жыл бұрын
Oh that is so funny! You know my sister what the same way, she would gag everytime, no matter how small the pill. I had to grind my pills up for a bit...they are so nasty! lol. Love ya lady! xo
