I am a huge fan of Dr Greger and own his “How Not To” series of books and his cookbook. Just FYI, regarding Lysine supplements, I have been taking 1,000 mg per day as a preventative for oral cold sores on and around my lips, and nose along with my valocyclovir because I was getting them constantly. There are testimonials on the internet that it helps people. I think it helps me too and if I feel a cold sore breaking through, I take extra lysine that day and it seems to help. Regarding folic acid in nutritional yeast and multivitamins, Dr Joel Furhman states that that forms of folate has been linked with cancer. So, I started buying unfortified nutritional yeast.

:D Nice one Dr. MG. Yep agreed eat spices AFTER a meal!!!!! Ancient Indus Valley Civilisation wisdom handed down for generations. They observed adverse effects of eating spices on an empty stomach and realised ... after a meal is best or preferably mixed in with the dishes is the best ... aka curries.

I was surprised to hear Dr Greger say that maple syrup is for an occasional treat for special occasions. Is date paste the same? Can date syrup be used daily or is it a special occasion food also? This is confusing because of all the dessert cookbooks and the constant posting of dessert in Facebook groups. I don't think people know that this is the case.😮

Previous q&a's and his cookbook he recommends date paste made whole dates. 1 cup of pitted dates blended with 1 cup of of water. Might have to soak the dates first. Shop bought date paste has too much fibre removed. I've seen 100% date paste in a shop in France years ago but not readily available unfortunately. It's always up to you what you decide.

He did say avoid it. It's just sugar. Special occasion just means very rarely. Agree with you though, most people don't realise it's just sugar. It's the same with salt. People think it's necessary when it has a fancy name.

Can you tell Dr. G that the dog comment was a vegan activist point about how carnists defend eating pigs, cows, chickens etc.

Don't ALL emulsifiers adversely affect the one-cell-thick layer of your large intestine? If you take about a quarter teaspoon of Ashwagandha three times a week -will that damage your liver? Did you say in one of your videos, that a patient of chemotherapy should instead - use a WHOLE FOOD, PLANT-BASED DIET - to cure his condition!?

Does the wheat germ need to be cooked? Can you eat wheat germ raw?
@kfc4007

I was just about to try this out after attending the webinar this evening 🙂. Probably soaking overnight is enough, depending on the age of the germ. Or soaking and wait & spray water for a few days until they start sprouting. I do this with all kinds of germs.

I just started eating wheat germ and have been eating it raw and dry straight out of the bag by the spoonful as a snack. It has a sweet nutty taste. I don't like it mushy in oats, smoothie, or water. Is this not as healthy? And I also don't cook my oats. I just let them soak in water for 10 minutes. I eat a 5 grain cereal (oats, wheat, rye, barley, triticale) that I soak for a half hour. I'm not sure how many people do it this way.

I tried using zinc sunscreen and gave up because it smells like piss ants and makes me look like a vampire and also stains my shirts with the smell even after multiple washes, also really hard to wash off my face, so unfortunately I just have to age because I love the sun 😢
