Yours was the first CGM/WGM video I watched three months ago and it was very interesting, especially in regards to the scientific interest you take towards the process. That video specifically is what piqued my interest (I believe it was the one about what you wish you had known about CGM before you began) and literally that day I decided to give the entire thing a go. I have been loving this added sense of self-awareness through understanding my hair, and it has been refreshing, especially as a nursing mother going through the hair loss phase, to have an added bit of self-care that truly shows results. Thank you for your time and dedicated work documenting and explaining your journey for others to also benefit. I am a cinematographer and editor and know that video work is not a quick or easy process. I really respect what you do and look forward to continuing to enjoy your posts!

Hey Courtney! Thank you SO much for this channel! My daughter and I have waves, and we have struggled for years! Your washday videos have completely saved our hair routine! We still seem to have one hurdle to conquer, and I’m hoping you can help. After we scrunch out the crunch, our waves start to fall and meld together. How do you keep some hold and definition without crunch? (We only use Blueberry Bliss and a light gel to style currently. )

@Swavy Curly Courtney Could you please give me some advice as to what to do with my hair? I have never colored or used heat on my hair. I used to just shampoo, condition, brush (otherwise tangles galore) then air dry. I've also always (and still do) washed every 3-4 days. That usually gives me relatively straight hair, but I have a nest of frizz on top of my head (which I have had since my later years in high school). I am now in my mid 20s. The past year I have been using oils which helped a bit but it's still frizzy. Lately I bought a silk scarf that I use, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. It also frizzes up when it's humid or when it gets wet. Lately, I've been washing upside down and only recently came across the CGM and your channel. I am also quite minimalist and don't like using/having a lot of products. My hair is usually in a braid, or in a twisted half up do for work. On wash days I leave it down or do a loose twisted bun for waves. Now my mom's side has soft wavy hair while my dad's side is quite curly. Is it possible that my hair might actually be wavy/curly? Is that why my hair is so frizzy? You have been so informative in my research and I have been hesitant about starting and committing to the CGM due to the amount of products.

It’s fall in NY, but it’s almost 100% humidity here today! 🥵 I don’t know when it’s okay to use glycerin in hair products. What do you think about getting a dry haircut for curly hair? I’ve had mixed feelings about this and often it leaves me feeling my layers are uneven. I think I’m going to try another hairdresser again for a dry 💇🏻♀️ soon.

Recoil on soaking wet. Rake and Scrunch in. Wait a minute, praying hands with the gel and then gently scrunch.

I always put my hair up too. I absolutely HAVE to. I get so tired of it being down. Have you tried banana clips or the little scrunch it clip things (kinda like a pony-o, but they seem to be more for finer hair)... they work wonders at not pulling at my curl pattern...

I have a question: I struggle with deep conditioning. Especially protein conditioners. They're either too thick and it doesn't except the conditioner or it's not rich enough my hair is still lacking nutrition. The only solution I have found is mixing the protein treatment or deep conditioner with my favorite normal conditioner. If you have any other tips i would really appreciate it. ^^
@derrickjenniferwatkins13944 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm not a professional or a scientist... But I have heard that regular conditioner works as well as a mask when left on for half an hour with heat. So while you're are looking for that perfect DC, maybe try your fave regular conditioner as a deep conditioner!
