Hey Rebekah, thanks so much for all of your available content!! Can you talk about pregnancy cravings while on carnivore? Did you have any and what tips do you have for keeping it healthy? For example if you have carb cravings do you recommend fruit or sugar alcohols or stevia?
@rebekahheishman-tailoredke89395 ай бұрын
Everyone is different when it comes to stevia etc. I do well with it but I focused on variety and jazzing up my protein with carnivore chicken nuggets, pizza, etc. Plenty of electrolytes also (not enough can trigger or worsen those cravings). I craved animal foods the whole pregnancy.

What is your opinion on DNRS (limbic system retraining)? Did u utilize this during your healing journey? What are some alternative methods to heal the limbic system and nervous system dysfunction (from chronic stress, toxic relationships, health issues, etc)?

I haven’t seen any improvements and think it’s probably time to get some bloodwork done. As a 50 year old woman in menopause which bloodwork (through Own Your Labs) should I have done?

Im 49 year old female and I've got about 50 lbs to lose. I've got some issues with health that Im trying to reverse and Im hoping that eating this way will help. But Based on all of the carnivore videos Im watching Im worried that im not really eating enough calories or fat. I'm for the most part eating twice a day and until i can't eat another bite. But I checked my calories for yesterday for instance and I had 1 1/4 lb burger patty with 2 eggs cooked in lard in my cast iron pan (lard that I rendered) and for dinner I had 8 homemade meatballs. I had a small serving of pork rinds as well. Now It's 9:25am the next day and Im still legitimately not hungry. Should I be worried?

Hello! 💛 Don’t know if you’ve got the time to respond to this, however I just wondered: If the carnivore diet seems to make candida infection worse, does that mean I shouldn’t be doing it? Can candida survive on ketones? Or could it be die-off symptoms? Thanks for doing what you do 💛

How would one know if they are metabolically flexible and can use both carbs and fat for fuel efficiently? I imagine it would need to be after one has been fat adapted for a period of time?

I’ve been carnivore for 6 weeks. I’ve had so many good things come of it but I’ve also noticed quite a lot more freckles. Is this normal?

Not sure about that one but I do love freckles 😁

Can you clear up something? I’ve heard that some weight gain can happen if your body has been deficient of nutrients and some trauma- which I check off both boxes. Had surgery in 2022 and ate processed stuff. I am in menopause so I got the belly and that’s what got me to try carnivore. I’m concerned if I am in the “insulin resistance” camp because I’m not losing or if I’m in a different grouping from what I mentioned. I think a lot of us get that confused?
@rebekahheishman-tailoredke89396 ай бұрын
That is absolutely correct. Your body is looking for nutrients not calories.

If wheat doesnt bother you, you might try Einkorn wheat byJovial foods, imported from aItaly, an ancient form of non hybridized wheat, naturally lower in gluten

I would go for einkorn!

Thank you Rebekah for sharing this. Could you also answer if it's possible that electrolytes make me feel tired and lethargic? I suffer a lot from dizziness and imbalance and took some re-lyte (unflavoured) which makes me feel absolutely terrible. So back to the drawing board I guess. Salting my food a little is helpful but makes me swell up like a ballon sadly. xo

I know a lot of people here don't do vitamins, but my mom who gets dizzy and was falling down a lot. I started her on B-1 aside from her hair skin and nails multi b complex and it helped she hasn't fallen again. She is old, and I think it's partly from her BP meds. Good luck to you

I am taking a lot of supplements already including the ones you mentioned. It’s probably a salt deficiency in my case. Have a great day 🩷

Great for the right individual , but not a good idea for many. Must be fat adapted, And also keep it minimal so that nothing done regulates to adapt to the lower energy intake.

Just how did you give your eating to God? You have mentioned that keto had become a God. After you threw out scales, measuring and attempts to control, how did you know where to start? How did you know how much meat, fat etc?
@JihnJj7 ай бұрын
Hi, when you say 2: 1 ratio of fat to protein in past videos, do you mean the weight of the fat i.e 200 grams and the weight of the meat OR is it the weight of the fat and the weight of the protein content within the meat so example: 200g of fat and 400g of tenderloin which has 100g of protein
@-sismeistere13437 ай бұрын
The ratio is grams of protein to grams of fat.😃
@Julia298536 ай бұрын
You have to use an app or chart to figure it out. It differs for each food, different types or cuts of meat, etc. For instance a certain size of beef ribeye, would typically contain, x grams of protein and x grams of fat ( and probably x grams of water), it’s not a straightforward 20 grams of ribeye = 20 grams of protein

How should someone approach carnivore diet with very high cholesterol

I've got high cholesterol, carnivore doesn't seem like it's doings anything bad. Kelly Hogan said her cholesterol dropped on high fat carnivore diet

If you have time to respond to this I would appreciate it: What were your blood sugar readings when you were eating 4000-6000 calories and couldn’t gain weight? I’m assuming your Blood Sugar was extremely low? Just curious…because I believe adding more protein raised the Blood sugar and gave your body much needed nutrients and the ability to heal. Is that correct? Thank you.
@rebekahheishman-tailoredke89396 ай бұрын
My blood sugars were anywhere from 140 to 30 in the evening. It was across the board totally horrendous. I was not only insolent resistant , but also had issues with glucagon receptors. More protein , but also less anti nutrients with key
@lowcarbbully6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for responding. Great to know that the blood sugar was completely erratic in your particular situation.
