Rebekah never said to impersonate esau just to go in and make his bid on his own merit. Never said to lie and say im Esau.

I think, and it's my opinion, that Rachael took the idols because she was afraid her father would use them to find or harm Jacob and crew. Her father used them for divination and witchcraft I think she took them as a form of protection so that her father would not be able to use them.
