I disagree that there is always an issue with a daughter-in-law. Sometime the in-laws act really cruelly towards the daughter-in-law and she has done no wrong.

@@bushrabonera yeah i agree with you both. @maryamishtiaq was being biased in that answer. in 99% cases, its the in-laws who are toxic and abusive even when the daughter in law is honestly harmless and innocent. the relationship that she has with her aunty is Ma sha Allah is admirable but that is 100% because nabeel shah's mother seems like a great mother in law, not typical, if she had been a typical desi saas, both her son and daughter in law would be living a torturous life! saas bahu relationships like hers exist, but are rare. not common. Ma sha Allah to their relationship. however that shouldnt make anyone undermine hundreds of women's struggles. this is in itself a legit social issue.

What do you mean the daughter in law is also at fault?? Desi parents are known to be hell raisers if they don’t seem their daughter in law absolutely perfect in every which way. It’s a serious problem within the culture and a lot of the time the women are forced to suffer in silence because of mindsets like this. Sounds like you just said that to appease your MIL since she was sitting right there but I really hope that that’s not what you actually think
