If you’re hesitant to have an in-person meet up, maybe start with a virtual event. That way you can have that face to face interaction online, then transition to an in-person event when comfortable

Very good idea!! Not sure why I never thought of that before 😍

I live in Bayern and I‘m enjoying your videos for about year and a half.. I am also foreigner as you, I had bad experiences mostly at work. I was sad and depressed all the time, untill I met my husband. Now we have a son, and I am happiest human alive. Point of the story is, once I‘ve had a baby I realised how irrelevant all the people around me were.. My son is my heart and soul. 💙

A meet-up would be really cool! As a German who's majored in American Cultural Studies and also a child of immigrants myself I'm constantly and endlessly curious about the intersection of American and German experiences.

A virtual meet up is a great idea!!! I live in Texas and that would be perfect. My daughter loves you! She is only 7 but told me Zoie dropped a video. You are truly a great role model. It is scary out there so you do have to be careful. Whatever you decide to do, we will follow you. Have a great day!!

Glad you didn't give up, Zoie, and that you share your experiences, good and bad, on here. Moving abroad is exciting but tough, and you bring an authentic and necessary perspective with your platform. Very inspiring! ❤️

I live in Norway and the transition here was/is hard at times. I ran into a few ppl who were rude and the intensity and nature of their rudeness was def based on race. Taking Norwegian classes, trying to meet more friends and doing other things that I enjoy are helping me to adjust better. But yes, when you literally don't speak, only have your partner to socialize with or can't be as independent as you once were in the states, it is hard to stay open and "normal." I keep going and trying bc I see my life going a certain direction. Best wishes and I love your channel!

If you want to play volleyball rather than go to the gym, finding a sports team is quite straightforward in Germany, especially if you live in a decent sized town / city. I encourage you to try out joining a team, for most foreigners and out-of-towners it's usually the easiest way to make friends in Germany! I have made most of my friends through joining sports teams, the social aspect - going out for food & drinks after training etc. - is also very high usually. The cost for joining a sports team is also very low compared to paying monthly for a gym.

Thank you Zoie for answering the questions. I really really love your videos. They have helped me so much while I have been living here in Germany. They have given me the motivation to continue to work hard to accomplish my goals here in Germany. I am so so proud of how far you have come and I am really happy that things are working out. I definitely understand your hesitation with meeting people in person but I would totally be down for a meet-up if you eventually are comfortable with that. Thank you so much again for the great videos.

I'm so glad that things are going better for you now as opposed to when you first moved there. Yet I'm sad that racism and hate is still going on worldwide. I honestly thought we as a people (meaning the world as a whole) were further along than we are. But the past 6 or 7 years has shown me how wrong I was. I still have some hope though. Hope mixed with too much exhaustion. But at least that hope is there.
