This Mechanical Engineering PhD defense presentation occurred at at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in August 2016. Omg, I just found this video and was looking him up on google and then.... "Alumnus Steven John Keating SM '12, PhD '16 passed away from brain cancer on July 19 at the age of 31" I never had a teary eye for someone I just saw 5 minutes ago on a youtube video. Rest in peace :(

i saw this video 6 years ago and really enjoyed it. suddenly yt algo showed to me again and i couldnt help and wonder what hapenned... RIP especially because im about to be 31

It shouldn’t be used to play war with but yes, could be used for hospital ships or whatever we live in a scary world

Whoa, how about on the DCP(digital construction platform) adding solar collection material making the whole structure photovoltaic? Maybe even material that would allow it to self regulate temperature inside. Wow, he really gets you thinking on new levels. I especially like how he references the effectiveness and efficiency of nature( insects and beavers). Why dont we just reverse-engineer their structures?? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏻

+Steven Keating I love your mind, but if you could think on on a truly organic scale: lets say for a technology that is appropriate for the impoverished masses first and make headway from there; I think your creations would more organically grow into a holistic system that on it's own can eventually learn to provide the best kind of "solutions" for humanity.
