When Madison mentioned the word betrayal, wow did that hit home for me. I was with my spouse for 23 yrs and 2 kiddos. In hindsight I don’t know how I missed those red flags/signs. Our marriage wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t very attentive to the kids and that was always what we argued about.. if we ever did at all. Over the yrs I just got used to holding down a job and coming home to take care of the rest. Like Madison said, you figure out how to balance your time. The hubby kissed me at the front door one morning, said he loved me and even asked what we were having for dinner that night, the last part was odd bc he never asked about menu plans. LoL Later that day a woman came into my workplace while I was training a new employee, I asked if I could help her, she replied “no.” She stood around for awhile and then began crying. I stopped everything and went to her aid, she was so distraught that I couldn’t understand her and I hugged her until she calmed down. She handed me a large brown envelope and told me that she could tell I was a nice person and that she was so sorry, it was divorce papers. I laughed at first and said “oh honey, this must be a mistake.” She was new at her job, just wanted to make extra cash for Xmas. The lawyer told her ahead of time that I’d be in the dark (what a snake, both hubby and lawyer) and while observing me at work she told me I was so kind and patient with my trainee and again told me I was a nice person and I didn’t deserve what was happening to me. To this very day I find that encounter to be sort of odd but I appreciate that she had a conscience. To make this long story shorter, let me move forward.. he too (my ex) traveled for work a lot. We didn’t see him much which is why I wanted him to pay attention to the kids instead of running off to play golf every time he returned. Our youngest was 15 and he could have taken him with but he never wanted to. Well if you haven’t guessed by now, he had a mistress and not someone he met during his travels but she lived in our town! Oh how naïve I was, I never thought in a million yrs that he had it in him to be a cheater. Here was the confusing kicker for me, he filed for sole custody of our son! The judge denied him and said he had 3 wks to move out of our home bc she thought he was playing games, you can’t have your cake and eat it too she said. I reported to my lawyer that I made him sleep on the couch bc he was under the impression that we were still going to have sex.. haha, um no! He moved in with his mistress who kicked him out 6 mos later bc she didn’t like him having visitation with our son, he sure picked a winner. I never met the woman and I’m glad. How did I find this out? Bc he called me apologizing and asked to come home! So what Madison said rings true, had he asked me a month earlier I would have told him to pack his bags and I’d meet him at the front door.. but I had crossed a line, something just clicked within me and I knew I was stronger than I thought and I didn’t need him anymore, I knew I could make it on my own.. when previously I was sooo hurt that I just wanted to crawl into a ball and never wake up. The finale’ to this story is still funny to me. I excepted the ex’s apology over the phone, told him to have a good life and I had no desire to be with him anymore so my answer was NO to coming back home, he didn’t have one with me anymore. In all the years, not once had he ever sworn at me but his sweet apology was taken back (like a child) and he called me every name in the book. Teehee.. my last words to him were, “I’m sure you’ll find another sucker to take you in.. until you expect her to take care of ALL your needs bc in this day and age (we marriage in 83) women are not taught to cater to men the way I was, they aren’t old fashioned and backward like that anymore.. I’m finally free of you and you’ll never find another woman like me again so good luck.” I laughed into the phone before hanging up and that was the end of it. I never saw him again, not even in passing. Divorce is sad even in the best of circumstances, if you are going through one right now (male or female) I promise you it’s not the end of the world and you’ll be okay, you will soon discover that you are much stronger than you think. 👍🏼😊

I’m so grateful for your comment. I read the whole thing. I’m going through a divorce right now. I’m 100 confident in my decision to leave and hopeful that everything will be alright. But I must admit it’s a headache knowing that there’s no exact end date I can anticipate. It’s been days shy of 6 months since I left. A month ago just before we were set to finalize uncontested he hired an attorney and filed an answer. I’m told it has to be at least a year for them to push it to trial. And he’s showing he’s the type that just wants to fight and win since he’s upset that I had the hall to leave after years of abuse. So we’re wasting resources that could go to establishing a bright future for our two toddlers and he couldn’t care less. He said “if you want a divorce you should be willing to pay no matter the cost.” and he’s proven he meant every word of that. Nonetheless, thank you for your encouraging words; it’s a reminder that though there’s no resolve yet one is coming and all will be well.

It's one thing if a man or a woman can't get along, but they still have equal responsibility in raising the kids .... And nobody gets child support. But I don't understand why a woman would lower her standards and disrespect the goddess that she is by laying with a boy who doesn't have a good soul. A man will still participate in his children's lives regardless of the relationship with the mother.

Even my ex was never reliable with full of fake promises and this is like the darkest time for me. Thankfully, my parents are nearby and helping me to be stronger for my kids but my gosh this is tough. Stay strong to all the single moms doing this all alone 💗

Omg I love these videos! Yes mama! So I separated from my kids dad about a year ago. I have been looking for Tik Toks or KZbin videos that talk about the transition from a separation! Glad I came across your video. Especially for us moms who have the kids majority of the time! Struggling to figure out custody agreements and child support is a nightmare. The awkward dates you go to. All the dating apps you download because you just want to know if you still got it! And then you question yourself, “am I even ready to date?” . Dealing with the behavioral change that your kids go through. My son is 10 and I got him a counselor who meets with him once a week. Not only that but when the kids come back from their dads, they act very spoiled. Sometimes dad goes through emotional roller coaster , one day I’m blocked and hated, the next day everything is ok! It’s stressful and I don’t see content on this. Also just staying ok through all of this is hard! 97% I’m not ok! 😅 So yes please make more videos like this, I like them! I’m so happy for you! I want to hear more about your dating stories! I know it’s been hard but you got this mama!

Awww man, “I have some storieees….” *jump cuts to next question* Lmao. I was like “Wait!!! What’s the stories???” 🤣🤣🤣 No, for real though, I could tell that you are happier. I know exactly what you mean about it feeling freeing. It’s not that it’s necessarily “toxic” per se, it’s just that you change so much of yourself with that person without even realizing it that when they’re gone you start to see how much you lost yourself along the way. I’ve honestly noticed how happy you seem lately. I definitely don’t think you’ll have a problem meeting anyone when you are ready. And, absolutely YES to a Podcast. It would be cool if you could film it for KZbin too though (like Laura Lee and Manny MUA’s Podcast, Fool Coverage). 💕💕

I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion, but the first video I saw of yours was Kinsley's birth video, and i thought he seemed overly critical of you, even in your most vulnerable moments. He had something negative to say about everything. You don't need that kind of crap in your or your kiddos' lives. There are so many better, loyal, loving, and supportive men out there. Not that you need a guy, you are a badass woman! Its so true once your done girl you are done and their is no going back once you get to that point. Ive had a really rough year with my own relationship and we split for a little while after 6 years and it really was hard and put things into perspective of what i wanted and fortunatly he did what was needed to make me feel alot more confident in our relationship but i most defiantly still have so many doubts of if this is the right thing and i guess only time will tell. I did not have your support system or child support. i was given an ultimatum, him or the child...I left. Dating and relationships, came and went. I would not vring anyone around my child until I knew we had something abd had been together about 4 to 6 months. Be extremely careful who you choose to be in your life and your family's life. Listen to your instincts, always follow your intuition. I was 47, when i finally married for the first time and was a grandmother. Never settle to please others. Best wishes.

Is so sad to hear your marriage didn’t work out that you were alone with the kids most of the time while your husband was away with his job. Especially having your second child while you were both trying for another baby. I don’t think i would be able to cope being a single mum I would try to keep giving the marriage a try. And be supportive of my husband job aswell too. I find is harder on the kids more and never want them to experience that. Since i have experience it my parents split up when i was 8 was not easy especially when you have two mums or two dads or both. I would love to have your energy and being strong and a great mum to your daughters.

A new model of marriage may make sense. This Nom is gorgeous and intelligent - I can’t see her with some guy who treats her as a pretty thing. She deserves a man, not a boy-man

Dating is one thing, but it's no reason to shack up with a man. No man will love another man's babies. Don't be like 95% of these women and choose a man over your own kids.

I want to know why you have to put “single mom” in your video descriptions? Like, is that a way for you to get clicks? Feel sorry for yourself? Like, why? You’re a mom, just be a mom. I did the single mom thing too but damn, I didn’t drag it out like that. Just be a mom.

It’s because other single moms search for videos to find content to help and relate to. If you don’t put it in the the title then they can’t find the content. When you title a video it’s what the video is about and in the description you describe what the video is about. This is a Q&A about being a single mom. It’s not “dragging” it out. Also being a single mom isn’t to be ashamed of or to hide. It’s what I am. I’m sure being a single mom you appreciate support rather than someone negatively critiquing your job, parenting and etc. so instead of trying to tear another mom down, why not instead support each other? We have enough negativity in this world. Be better and do better. Thank you.
