I'm a little curious why he'd be so weirdly vague about it. If he had orders from above to reveal nothing, why not just answer those questions "no comment?" To me it seems obvious that SAM ore is going to be in the game, that there's going to be a process where we refine it somehow and combine it with previous things we've made to make even fancier things and eventually space elevator parts. If they weren't going to add it to the game, I don't understand why they'd put it in the game during Early Access or why it would still be there if those plans changed. Or if it was such a surprise, why bother putting the nodes in the release build? But then there's Snutt being almost weird about it. Mild speculation: "What's SAM ore? Never heard of it" could be a funny way to say "no comment" or a way to hint that's not what it's going to be called in the final game. "Answering "Will SAM ore have a practical use" with "SAM will have some use" rather than a simple "yes..." That's like a box of asbestos-free cereal. By omitting the word "practical" it's implying that the use for it isn't practical. Some more mild speculation: At the beginning of the game, if you look in the MAM before touching any caterium, what will be the caterium tree is called "Unknown Metal." I think it is reasonable speculation that there will be a MAM tree for SAM ore, and it might call it "Strange Alien Metal" until we discover it and it has a name like froonium or something. Similarly, I think it's not impossible that somersloops and mercer spheres will be renamed and/or reskinned to make it more apparent what they're for/what they do.
